Actually after i posted this i found that none of my pro apps aka. Finalcut studio and adobes stuff dosent want to work. ahhh!!!

Precisely why I thought an Archive+Restore was absolutely insane. As a graphics professional working from my MacBook Pro, I can't afford to have any downtime with my pro apps. Doing an Archive+Restore would have blown at least a day, if not more, reinstalling all my apps. Not an option.

However, I'm intrigued at the possibility of getting the buttons to work. So, they actually do what they're supposed to do after an Archive+Restore? Why would that work?

An Archive and Install should take about an hour and a half if not less, depending on what you choose to install.

3rd party applications is what will take a long time to sort out though, it is a pity that an Archive and Install can't guarantee to preserve all 3rd party app's.

More info about Archive and Install.

i received my new keyboard (DE) today. it works great except for the usb ports. when i try to connect my usb stick or ipod, i always get the error message that there's not enough power to run the device.
has anyone experienced the same?

hey luke_s
Mine has the exact same problem, iPod 4G and 5G wont work, but Shuffle works nicely, so does my camera haven't tried a USB stick, but i suppose a shuffle draws the same amount of power as a stick does.
Mine is german specced aswel!( keyboard )
AppleCare telephone dude didn't know how to fix it, and said to me that i should try to go to a Apple Center, but thats near impossible because i live in Belgium = no apple center. and the reseller i went too wanted 25€ to test my keyboard.. Yeah right!!! So right now i'm getting really annoyed.
------ Edit :
I'm using a Mac Mini, dno if that matters ?

I used one yesterday at the Apple store and loved it. If it were wireless I'd buy it. The other wireless option one is not an option to me. I simply value the number pad too much.

Used one today and also loving it. Was reassured to see the keyboard layout wasn't the same as the US version as early Apple pictures suggested.

I don't care for wireless keyboards and mice any more, so I'm not too fussed about the number pad issue. Apple seem to be targeting their wireless keyboard at a media-centre type audience this time around, which is fair enough I guess. It's a shame that it burns previous-gen wireless keyboard users, though, giving them no clear upgrade path.
