New Apple Leather Case

The Amazon cable does fit, I took one into the apple store to check, hooked it up to a macbook to see would it charge . I got the black one.

The Tavik bumper I wanted, the Amazon cable did not fit all the way in, though you could probably nip the opening so it would, but the power button did not easily depress like the leather case. .

That's how I ordered my black case. Being elite plus I got it in two days. But I wanted to see the other colors in person. I'm sure I can order and return if I'm not happy, but just trying to avoid returns. Not a big fan of returns. I know I'm weird. :rolleyes:

I totally get you. I feel that way about Best Buy because the store I go to is so ****ing helpful and nice, and I dont like hurting their sales for the day and ****.

I went to the Apple store and saw them in person. The yellow looks like mountain dew, and the blue looks just like the smart cover except leather. The brown is very light, kind of looks like bad poop imo, and the red (which I thought was the one I was going to buy), looks really sick in person. It isnt bright like on the verge of pink, but it is just a vibrant rich red like the rest of their red products. The beige I like a lot, it looks like a very natural skin tone, but I could tell that it would get dirty super super early.

I know you probably have heard this but I figured I might try and help.... honestly I do not like the way the lighter colors have worn out at all.... I totally get the idea of the leather changing over time, but the lighter covers just end up looking plain bad when it happens. I stuck with the black.

Yeah I have black on black too. The Apple case is nice but I am not sure I will keep it. I am about to get a tough armor from Spigen. So I might return it.

The armor case is not, but certainly not my style. To bulky compared to a bumper or leather case. I'm sure it's an excellent product, but not one that appeals to me. I like the minimal look and feel.

I have both, Apple case is much nicer, thinner, lighter, buttons feel better, you can see the grey edges on the phone, and no hole in back.

There's just something about the way it accents the Gold model, especially the TouchID ring. I'm pleased to say I am now truly happy with my color choice and ready for the leather to age.

So basically you can't make up your mind so you keep returning products... no wonder they cost $40.

**After going back through this thread it appears you are not the only one that believes returning case after case is ok. Sad IMHO.

What I'm curious about is does the Apple store employees package them back up and put them back out on the shelves for some poor sucker to get a returned item?

They do not. I was in the Apple Store earlier today and took one off the shelf that someone had opened to try it on. An employee admonished me for opening it (though I hadn't), and told me he would have to damage it out.

Good to know. Sucks that you got reprimanded for something you didn't do.

I bought red for my space grey. Am accepting that it may discolor as time goes on but don't mind
 
I got a silver 5S. Everybody says to get the blue case.

And while I like the blue case, the baige on looks the most natural, which I like a lot.

Problem is, some people said it looks pink. Does it really? I'm a 32 make and I really don't want a pink case.

Has anyone seen it in person? Is it baige or pink?

I don't know if I would call it "pink," but it is a little odd. I think it is the least attractive color by far.

The case is actually beige. Not sure where pink came from. I looked at them all in person. No confusion.
 
Thinking about getting one but was curious as to how durable the leather was and also want to make sure the phone int wobbly or anything within the case. I like very tight fitting cases on my phone.
 
I've returned my Blue Apple leather case. Only had it on my 5S for 3 days, already it was absorbing dirt from within my pockets and of my hands. the edges where going black. I accept the colour will naturally change over time, maybe months, but not 3 days and not from absorbing dirt. Very disappointed, totally the wrong choice of leather/material.

My 1 week old case looks like its been drug through an oil field.
