grrrr.. I know I want this case but still can't decide on color..

I have the Space Grey phone and am torn between Red and Black..

New Apple Leather Case

Good quality leather doesn't pickup and absorb dirt and grime in a few days... (unless you're really freaking dirty!). Quality leather ages and changes color over time, it doesn't do this in 1-2 days and change from red to black. I've had my Vaja case for 4 days now and its not dirty or showing signs of wear yet, while my Apple case looked dirty and worn down after just 2 days of being in my pocket. The Apple case is nice but its made of inferior compressed "leather".

Read all of the complaints in this thread. Most don't understand the fact that the appearance of leather changes over time. They want the leather to look exactly the same as when it was out of the box.

With Space Grey, I've come to decide that Brown or Blue look best.

Decided to get red to help with project red.

If that's the case, buy the Product RED then exchange it for the color you would like.

----------

1. They also fit iPhone 5 right? I mean- it's the exact same sizes and shape....
2. Is it protective enough? Does it has bumps around the screen to softer the fall and prevent it from landing ON the glass?

1. Yes, exact dimensions.

2. Quite protective. It's not paper thin, so the leather edges do offer a bit of cushion. Enough to say my phone is not cracked after two falls about waist height; one on concrete and the other on tile. (Rarely drop my phone too!)

And yes, there is a lip around the perimeter of the phone. It is about 1mm higher. Scan this thread for posts that mention this "lip"

That's what I did...

I'm not saying you can't exchange it. I'm saying that if you do, the donation does not go to RED.

The donations aren't processed live; they are paid monthly at the most, annually at the very least. They look at the net units sold during that time period to calculate the total donation.

Net units represents units sold less units exchanged/returned, thus the case you exchanged would not be included.

If they sell 1000 cases and 100 are exchanged/returned, the donation would reflect the sale of 900 cases.

I may be wrong...but I think what looks like black dirt eventually turns into just a darker and shinier version of the color you selected. At least that is what my brown case appears to be doing, as the edges are going dark brown (week 2 1/2). I think people my be dumping their cases prematurely...

I wasn't going to buy one but after reading the comments up in here I couldn't resist. I ended up with the black and I've had it for a few days and a little aging is appearing around the edges. When I go back to the apple store this weekend I'll be picking up another. Now choosing a color is going to be tough...:p

Doubt it. I know of someone who was denied purchasing Apple Care because he missed the window by one day.

You can always try though. Go straight to the store manager.

Actually - an update. I went yesterday on day 15. Just spoke to the first associate that approached me. She was happy to exchange the dock for the case. She said that officially the return policy is 14 days, but unofficially it is 30. She said you should never have a problem returning anything within 30 days. I thought that was interesting.

Good to know! Thanks for the follow up too. I'm sure others are happy to hear that they are somewhat "flexible" with the return policy.

I have the blue leather case from Apple and thinking about returning it. Being a female and hates dry hands the case will get dirty within a day or two..It is a light/baby blue color.

This is the smartest thing I've heard.

Same thing here. I just purchased square trade for 89. I figure use the leather case till it looks like crap than go back to a naked iphone. No point in dropping $40 every few months for a new leather case when the replacement is $50 per claim. Since I have 4 replacements for 2 years, I think I'm good.

Can you still get the $89 square trade deal?
