I was still hoping to get my hands on a working colored iMacs and the original iBooks

Oops.

Interesting while looking at the pictures,I noticed Steve Jobs High School yearbook his name is spelled Stephen Jobs.

I thought it was interesting to see how expanded the iPod line became.

People today love to talk about Apple "losing focus" and "having too large a product line." Well... Look at the history of iPhone (very focused) compared to the iPod (tons of different lines).

Just an observation.

One thing is for certain: There is no private Dell, IBM or Microsoft museum.

There most certainly is at least one Microsoft Museum.

As an aside, I'm not sure why you think "private" matters - and since private museums are often not publicized, your statement is far from certain. I've known Microsoft fanboys who are every bit as cultish and unreasonable as the most rabid Apple fan.

Just for a complete information, I'd like to introduce you to the the Italian one, All About Apple Museum, officially nominated by Apple itself as the most comprehensive Museum of Apple products.

It is located in the new marina area in Savona, in the north-west. This is not a private collection, but a non-profit association: participation and sharing are the strength of the museum. Furthermore, the displayed products are all fully functional and can be used by visitors. For more informations:

Yes, and Vermeer was a Dutch painter, yet some of his work can be found at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Beethoven was a German composer, and still they play his symphonies at the New York Philharmonic.
Why not Prague? It's a beautiful city

I agree, Prague is a beautiful city. But the major MUSEUMS for those people you mentioned are in cities where they are known to be born or lived. Your analogies make no sense in this context. Your analogies are basically talking about the fact that Apple products are everywhere. What does that have to do with where a museum is?

Well.. typos happpen.

Not to mention not rolling "Apple" to the next line. Obviously he had nothing to do with the graphic design aspects of Apple.

Oh, boy, guess I'll get the "consolidate all your replies into one post" spank message. And I can't fix it now because we can't delete our own messages. I love MacRumors but this message board really sucks compared to everyone else's. Sorry, had to say it. Can't it become more "Apple-like"?

Sure they make sense but I guess it comes down to whether you would want to honour the creator or his art.

Great concept and design for an Apple museum - very nice!

Nice one.

The only thing that turns me off is their use of typography for the museum. Their poor choice of font/fonts – and check out the horrible, horrible kerning between the 'D' and the 'i' + the 'f' and the 'e' on the multicolored iMac window sticker. Yuk!
— I expect real attention to detail and fingerspitzgefühl when it comes to aesthetics for an Apple museum. Even if it is not 'by Apple'.

But as I said – nice. Glad that there is one more thing to see in Prague.
