To have their products presented the way Steve wanted them to be presented, back in 2001, they had to have their own stores. Little kiosks at Best Buys were not going to cut it. I remember them being a huge breath of fresh air for Apple users, twenty or so years ago. Nowadays, I would agree, they aren't as essential. (Looking forward to trying a AvPro at a store next year, though.)I’ve been an Apple user since 2001 and yet I’ve never been to an Apple store.
Ditto. Can’t wait to buy and pickup my first apple device at Del Amo Mall! Finally! The Del Amo is a great location for a new Apple Store. It's also way better of a mall than Manhattan Village. This will ease some of the pressure off the yearly iPhone lines. South Bay will be happy to see this addition.
Del Amo also has a decent amount of EV charging, too, for those of us that like to get their steps in while charging.
Apple can afford it! Not many others can.not good to have a store in California these days......ouffffffffff
Would love an Apple Store here in Wichita. Largest city in Kansas (around half a million people) and the nearest Apple Stores are a 2.5+ hour drive to Kansas City or Tulsa.
Everyone is entitled their opinion/definition but your airplane description would also be chaotic IMO.I would never describe the experience as chaotic. I would describe it more like boarding an airplane for full flight at a major airport during a holiday.
Back then, CompUSA had “Apple” sections, and store staff that actively detracted from the experience (at least, that was the case at the downtown SF store). The original nearby Apple Store at the foot of Stockton Street was an enormous improvement. To have their products presented the way Steve wanted them to be presented, back in 2001, they had to have their own stores. And in Los Angeles of all places 😳not good to have a store in California these days......ouffffffffff
You missed the point. Those places are very far away. No one is arguing they are comparable. But Tulsa is over a million in metro, and KC is about 2.5 million.
"Malls" are the scourge of post-WWII modernity.the situation in Toronto is truly the saddest - with only very crowded mall-based stores
They are also a security risk sometimes, if they have back door with poor security, or adjacent walls that are not strengthen to prevent breaking like that example of a Apple Store where they put a hole near the bathroom from one store to another."Malls" are the scourge of post-WWII modernity.
An Apple Store at the Alderwood Mall was burgled last weekend, with thieves infiltrating the location through a nearby coffee shop. According to Seattle's King 5 News, thieves broke into Seattle Coffee Gear, went into the bathroom, and cut a hole in the wall to get to the Apple Store backroom.
Out of curiosity I checked the U. Oregon website for the college that requires a laptop purchase (and it's the Design College) and discover that said university has a.... Dell Site. Maybe Ducks do Dell???Eugene Oregon, home to the University of Oregon
Most USA University campus stores, sell Apple, Dell as examples. https://www.uoduckstore.com/technologyOut of curiosity I checked the U. Shoplifting and robbery in malls are trivial impacts compared to the wasteland that malls encourage. They are also a security risk
Yeah, I usually go to South Bay, but the Del Amo location is slightly closer to where I live. Good spot for an Apple Store. Finally! Come and open an Apple Store in Buenos Aires.
Actually Steve started the removal of third party wares sold in Apple Store. That joke of an audio product iPod Hi-Fi sold in 2006 showed Apple’s management conduct a removal of multiple better quality computer speakers so it could sell better. We seen this cross the board with many product categories such as sleeves, cases, networking and storage choices. When they bought Beats all the third party headphones vanished. Earphones also. Years ago an Apple Store offered a wide variety of goods. Now Best Buy in the USA is the place to go if you are looking for products outside Apple’s own. Amazon also offers the same.Apple stores are pretty boring now. Maybe it's simply the novelty wearing off, but years ago there was a lot more excitement when visiting the Apple store. Apple wasn't displayed in Best Buy and Costco back then either, so it felt more exclusive. Now it's easier than ever to walk past an Apple store without so much as a passing glance. RIP Steve.
Had no idea there was a Labrador region. Immediately added to bucket-list.There are no Apple stores in the province of Newfoundland & Labrador. I know this isn't a huge population area but I would think a location in the Avalon Mall in St. John's would be very much welcomed.
Can we really take you seriously with that username?LOL! Del Amo is a terrible choice as it is full of thug kids every afternoon. Expect daily robberies. Manhattan village is a great location I don't know what you are talking about bro.
