Who wants to lay odds that this won't be fixed with the new 15.4 OS release coming soon? Still having this issue, with no resolution from Apple on a Siri Remote firmware fix.

Good news! Nakamichi recently published a firmware update that fixes this problem. I installed the firmware update last weekend, switched back to the Siri remote and it's been working flawlessly since.
Nakamichi: This behaviour is caused by the Apple TV’s 2021 Siri enabled remote, which seems to have bugs related to it’s HDMI-CEC programming. To workaround this bug, our Engineering team has developed a firmware patch.

I don't have Nakamichi hardware but this thread saved me throwing returning my new Apple TV 4K. I have it connected to a Hisense TV and Onkyo receiver, and the TV would constantly freeze and only directional remote buttons would work. I paired my old Apple TV remote and everything works again.

I just wanted to chime in to say this issue is FINALLY fixed for me with the new Apple TV update. Apple updated the remote firmware to 0x0070 and this allowed me to turn on my Apple TV which then turns on my Soundbar & TV with a single click on the TV/Control Center button.

Is this the beta of tvOS 16?

Follow up on my post from a year ago. Recently purchased a new Apple TV 4K Ethernet (2022) and all is working correctly now. The remote consistently powers on the Yamaha RX-V685 receiver and Samsung TV. Not sure if it's because of a slightly newer remote (the new one charges by USB-C) or the ATV box itself. Anyway, I am now a happy camper
