'Cause y'all not so subtly get really vocal about a sudden desire to "come together" and "share values" when someone gives black folk recognition.

I would take any of you more seriously if you'd have this same feeling every other day of the year, and get loud about it.
First of all, not true. Second of all, this has nothing whatsoever to do with black people, it has to do with dividing groups of people, ethnicities, races, into blocs, for what amounts to commercializing or monetization.

I've commented many times about my wish to see Apple drop this and the Pride month product line and move to charity products or causes for a cure.

What those that are bothered by our opposition need to stop is automatically trying to make this about race and calling opponents, let's see, what have we heard in here today...."bigot", "racist", "turd", "hateful", akin to "cancer". So who has gotten loudest about it in here? Who seems triggered?

I genuinely like these products. I've bought the pride band every year because I genuinely think they look pretty good, except maybe that sprinkles sport band.

The fact they make them every year indicates they're popular products. If they weren't, they would have gone the way of Fine Woven.

The Black Unity Band from I think the COVID era where it was a black braided loop with spots of color injected into the band is and was one of the coolest bands to come out for the Watch. Still use mine regularly. Apple does mid year color refreshes on iPhones guys, maybe they do the same for accessories??? lol

And that's perfectly fine and if folks want to buy them, more power to them.

Things like this are designed to keep us divided, and plenty of race hustlers get rich because of it.

Like him or not, but Trump is right that we should not be engineering race & gender into every aspect of society.

Like has anyone ever thought that universities would have black only dorms or black only spaces? That's downright segregation where these students are brainwashed to hate white people.

Seems silly to have to wait on a software update for a new watch face...but then I see the new watch face in action and it is cool. it is now my current watch face [with just 2 complications].

I think the pride ones are cool too. weird for some to give these hate.

Then what's the problem? I can't imagine why you'd want Apple to drop a successful product line.
I stated it earlier but you probably missed it....no big deal. :) I don't like companies creating products solely designed around race/ethnicity/sexual preference, dividing people into "blocs". All that does is continue to hype up division and differences. Not all people in these "blocs" think the same, yet these companies want to portray these groups of people as being of one mind or interest, rather than individuals. At best, it's pandering and virtue signaling.

I fail to see how products like this and the pride stuff create division. Mind elaborating on that?

If Apple made this as a watch background and monthly themed release, everyone could easily get along! 😂

wish majority of people feeling offended on the behalf of other races would take this advice. it's usually those who obsess over race are the ones who are the real racists.
The most annoying part is it’s almost always the most over represented demographic in America who have meltdowns anytime others are being acknowledged. Apple does stuff for Chinese new year gay pride and black history month. However there is a very loud vocal minority who feel triggered anytime a company dares release a product that isn’t directly tarted at them. Truth be told I know people who buy these bands just because they like the colors.

How does acknowledging different types of people and consumers exist divide us? I also only hear people accuse something as being pandering when they aren’t the demographic that a company is directly targeting. What you are really saying is they should pander to your belief system. I hear this same type of rhetoric every time a video game or super hero movie has a poc lead or a female character not overtly sexualized.

***bangs head against wall*** Opposition isn't hate.
ok, cool...,some people oppose them. others seem to hate them, happy?
maybe mildly hate (I mean hate is opposition with more gusto)

for years Apple has had Chinese Lunar New Year wallpapers and maybe even custom AirPods cases... I am fine with that. They want to let people use a wallpaper or band that may be a way to signal to others "we are in the same boat" that'c cool with me. I don't see where this hurts anyone so I see no issues with Apple doing this.

UPDATED: I read your other post about stuff like this divides. I don't see it dividing anyone...but I am an easy-going person. like if I see someone with an outfit with ethnic or sexual designs I don't think they are trying to divide the public but are saying this is important to me, I want to let others know. People do this with Sports Team apparel...many will see others and say hey they like a similar team or even the same sport...then you have people that oppose those wearing it because it "divides" us when in reality it is a hated rivalry.

Sure. Say Company A wants to create a "White Unity" widget, because they believe that Caucasians should unify for say, a system of values or what have you, that Whites believe in. Now I think most people would naturally say that Whites aren't of the same mind and "unity" without specifics, is a nebulous term. Also, we know based on recent past that any group that specifically chooses to offer exclusivity to Whites is attacked viciously and labeled all sorts of things. There's lots and lots of ethnicities and if everybody got celebrated, no problem, but picking and choosing who gets the goodies is divisive and smacks of pandering at best.

The pride stuff is just silly. We're supposed to celebrate, for a month, someone's same-sex attraction? I'm very libertarian on most issues and I fully support gay marriage and living your life as you want, but do we need government or corporate celebration of people that are just same-sex attracted? It's just bizarre, it would be like having a holiday for left-handed people and the entities that are involved seem to push it into everything. Advertisements, social media, etc., and for what? Is it solving some problem? No. Not everything NEEDS a holiday or NEEDS a celebration. Society has gotten very immature and every group feels as though they're special and deserve to be recognized as such. They're not. We're all Americans here in the US and it would be nice if instead of trying to be in this intersectional group or that intersectional group, people started thinking more macro level.

So, all that said, do I want anything banned? No. Do I want government intervention in this? Absolutely not. Do I want a month celebrating people of British and Lebanese heritage, as I am? Heck no. If Apple wants to do these things, that's fine, they can do them and people can patronize them or not. I like Apple and I'm not going to boycott them or anything, but I do have a right to comment on their decision.

To be fair, Apple only did release Lunar New Years specific items in very few and select Asian countries, never in the US although the Asian population is quite large. Why they won’t do it is beyond me, if it’s about making some money and celebrating everyone, they’re letting a great opportunity go to waste.

Wow, tell me you completely misunderstand my point without actually saying it. Wanna know why people say it with movies and games? Because studios force it in SOLELY for the sake of doing it. It's awkward, it doesn't work, people don't want it. You can have a female protagonist and it can be great (See Sigourney Weaver as Ripley) but when you do it because of wokeness and pigeonholing in "the message" and girl bossing everything, it is forced and phony. People vote with their wallets, they don't want it.

Show us, please. Oh, I get it, any opposition to anything the left loves is racist/fascist/every other "ist" word the left misuses, abuses, and has caused people to just not care about anymore.
Maybe just maybe, you might want to be open minded enough to realise not everything has to be a left vs right thing and if you immediately go to that space, maybe the real problem is not with others.
