All leather bands are marked as new, but I can't see any difference for the black and brown leather. Can you?

The buckle is different on them:
MPWC2

edit: I'm not sure if I like this style or the old style. I really really like the old style buckles, I'll have to play with these next time I'm in an apple store to see if I like the new buckle design.

They're more in line with the Apple Watch's design
However it looks strange to me

Not sure if I'll go for this or a 3rd gen on eBay

I think I like the old buckle design better. I'll definitely be keeping my eyes peeled for a discounted old saddle brown buckle as 3rd party resellers liquidate stock.

This is like Coach band buckle....

The extra loop on buckle helps keep band in place...an extra retaining loop.

I like it. Not sure if i will invest since i have 3rd gen Saddle Brown already.

I'm not sure which buckle I like best. I was able to snag the old version in saddle brown from eBay (the one without stitching) at a pretty good discount and I don't regret it at all. It's very comfortable and looks great.

I also couldn't help myself and picked up a new Nike one in black/volt! Been waiting for Apple to sell just the band.

Yeah I did the same thing. $50 is steep but the 3rd party knock off I have is flimsy and collects lint like crazy. Can't wait to have the genuine band! The material of Apple's sport bands is just so nice!

I have a few Coach bands with buckles similar to this, I like them a lot. I think it's higher up on the quality scale then the old style. All the same, I have no problems with the old version.

Same here, I tried a knock off from Amazon and it's just not the same as the Apple ones.

And the same goes for the different leather bands. Stitching sucks and isn't even close to the original in consistency, the adapters isn't as smooth and great fitting at all and the durability of the leather just isn't there.

But that's what 10-20 bucks gives you

The buckle is exactly the same shape as the Watch now, just like with the Modern Buckle's clasp. I'm not a fan of this new design, I loved the old oval shape; the shape felt really subtle; squared buckles always feel kind of blocky and "in your face" to me.

Maybe it'll be different in person though, will have to check it out.

Prefer the previous buckle. Got my Marine Blue, Black and Storm Grey new off eBay for about £100 for all 3. Need a saddle brown.

I don't get why Apple doesn't include black adapters for those people that have SB or SG models? It looks funky with silver adapters for black leather bands, only looks good for Stainless steel.

Which is why I bought Stainless Steel. Was gonna go for ceramic but anything other than sport and some nylon look crap due to the adapters. Imagine if you'd bought a gold edition.....

Nobody did

But if I had a Apple Watch Edition (18k gold) I would go for the Link Bracelet (gold)
it's so beautiful

I like how Apple updated the buckle. Different options and styles are nice.

I don't like how you are now forced to buy this style if you want to buy a brand new classic buckle from Apple. Personally, I think the old design looks better but I wouldn't mind the new buckle either.

Apple should introduce new designs since its a fashion thing after all. But it'd be annoying if you wanted to buy an old classic buckle now.

But the amount of different options far outnumbers any product Apple has been making earlier - so I think it's pretty natural to introduce new models and let the old go

Wouldn't mind a fire-sale on the old Classic buckles though ;-)

Were the 42mm versions always on a 3-4 week wait? or were they available at first and now back ordered?

Does anyone have photos of the new Classic Buckles actually being worn? Would like to see how the new buckle design actually wears...

Taupe came in yesterday at my local Apple Store.

The leather feels thinner. My main issue with it is that the buckle is off center on my wrist as it is big enough to be noticeable. I also have concerns with the durability of bending the leather through the buckle.

I like the colour though.

Hmmm, off-centered buckle is not good design! That end of buckle at bottom will get scratched to hell! :(

my wrist is small so it'll definitely be off center. But the old buckle was small enough so it wasn't noticeable.

At the end of the day, I feel like the new classic buckle looks too much like the modern buckle, even though the mechanism is different. I'm just not really a fan of the look. I wonder if Apple intends to discontinue the modern buckle at some point. Seems like that collection hasn't seen a refresh in a while.
