Whether you have an iMac or just an LCD monitor, it's belting out electromagnetic radiation. Much more than a wired or wireless mouse.

Hmmm...
I often clean the scroll ball on a mighty mouse. Apple has cleaning info in the Apple Mouse user guide:

I take a damp paper towel (not wet), and use that for a surface to roll the mouse upside down. It cleans the ball pretty good. Just takes a few tries to make sure you have it as clean as you can.
Is it perfect? No, the cleaning doesn't always help, but most times, a little patience takes you from a mouse that won't scroll, to one that you can use.
Upside down didn't worked for me after first time. Then I cut a very narrow peace of tape and inserted it sticky side out between the mouse and ball, very slowly. That worked longer, but even after this Mighty was my shortest life mouse. And believe me, I used hours in cleaning it. If Apple had made it with just one srew and not with glue, you could have openend it and cleaned it perfectly. I liked the shape of it more than Magic. If somebody made a mouse with round shape and 360° scroll, I would buy it instantly.
Btw, Mighty costs in a big it shop near me $64. Would you pay that?

Mouses are (relatively) cheap-p-p devices (see what I did there?)
I will admit that my experience with Logitech mouses is not 100% good.
The double-click issue doesn't affect every model (nor every LT mouse)
I had one that had a sticking right-click that I gave up on, and trashed.

I did have one that was inadvertently double-clicking, and fixed that mouse with the double-click speed setting change. That's the reason I suggested that you try it. I DON'T suggest that will fix a mouse with a hardware problem.
I DO suggest removing any Logitech software, if you use it, which is a fix that also works for some. In about 15 years that I have used Logitech mouses, the software has never been good, just acceptable (usually :D )

But, why the need to make this work? Move on to another brand.

I tried the double click speed software change and it still double clicks.

I don't continue to buy Logitech mice. I just don't want to spend the money to replace it with a Magic Mouse when I have Logitech mice laying around that I can use.

I have a feeling they didnt do that not only because they weren't expecting it to need cleaning but also adding a screw would change the cost! Its all about the money mate, all about the money!

I liked the shape of it more than Magic.
Me too, Mighty is much more convenient in palm handle/grip!

Numbers never lie? I see you've never met statistics. :)

I don't have numbers for you but I'm familiar with the circuitry in each and if you're worried about mice, you really need to evaluate the effects of sunshine, nearby radio towers, and well, anything near you that has electricity flowing through it. It seems like people develop irrational fears of the tiniest things while ignoring the biggest risks.
