I was in AT&T and one of the sales guys let it slip that some new rate/ data plan changes are heading out soon. I'm guessing to coincide with the iPhone launch. Has anyone else seen them or heard anything about this?

Less for more, no doubt. Now that Big Red has screwed customers by trading 1 good unlimited plan for 3 bad ones, surely Ma Bell will follow suit.

AT&T already have their unlimited unlimited and then a crappy unlimited where your speeds are at 3 Mbps indefinitely for like 20 less. I swear T-Mobile is going to take over soon

I currently pay $40/6GB before my employee discount with AT&T and rep said the new plan would be better than that!

How did Verizon change their plans? I have an account with them and with AT&T.

With any luck AT&T will be releasing a lower price unlimited plan with the release of the new iPhone.

If not...well...I agree with QueenTyrone...T-Mobile may overtake everyone.

Streaming video on Verizon is now limited to 720p.

Nice of them to do that after I just switched to them.

The T-Mobile CEO made a speech and said they will overtake all the other carriers. Their pricing is good, the pay isn't as good (but he promised better wages later on), and T-Mobile has as many or more people than AT&T (could be wrong). And has speeds that match or are better than AT&T/Verizon. It's only a matter of time.

I was not even aware of that change. Did they force that limit upon everyone, or just new sign-ups?

It makes some sense, as the streaming video is probably the most stressful and congestive thing that people do with their phones...not that I support it.

I would like to see all plans unlimited, and the price you pay be based upon your amount of LTE data prior to throttling, or set download speeds.

AT&T has around 136 million subscribers, T-Mobile has around 72 million. Also, T-Mobile's coverage still has a long way to go to catch up to AT&T and Verizon. They won't be taking over any time soon.

Nope. As of Q2 2017, T-MO had ~70 million subscribers, whereas ATT had closer to ~135 million subscribers.

That varies far too greatly to be a definitive statement of fact. T-MO also still tends to be quite “generous” with their coverage maps.

Their coverage is still lousy. Their CEO is a an arrogant jerk who I will never give my business too. Their plans are literally $5 less than Verizon now and I'll take VZW or AT&T over them any time.

When I priced it out 2 months ago it was almost exactly the same price as Verizon. Within a few dollars, and I have 8 lines.

What plan does everyone have? Even with military discount I'm being charged 180 for 10 gb of data and 3 lines ;/

I'm on AT&T's old 5GB plan they offered for $50/ mo but due to an issue I had they gave me an extra gig and $10 off per month so I'm at 6GB/$40/mo before my 21% discount. Any new plan is going to be hard to beat that.

6GB of Data a month is nothing.
AT&T hopes you'll go over it and pay them overages.
That's how they make most of their billions, in overage fees.
