Yea its not official until tomorrow. I don't know how they will handle the plan change with phones still on contract though. I guess thats something that you would need to find out tomorrow to see if its still cost efficient.

i just switched an iphone on contract to a GN3 on NEXT
keep you iphone
get new phone on next
sell your old iphone or keep it, whatever you want

Here are the details for those that are still on contract.

On Contract - $40 per line for remaining contract then it reduces to $15 per line after it rolls off contract.

Awesome, thanks for clarifying.

I just called them to make the change.

Since it doesn't change until tomorrow, I made the effective date tomorrow.

I save $10 a line since none of my lines are under contract. That's $30 for three lines.

However since my 6GB plan is only $80, I have to move to the $100 10GB plan.

The 6GB plan is still $25 per line.

So for those of us that never sign contracts, this is great. Of course I've been paying AT&T a lot for many many years and it's good to see this finally change.

Nope, not worth it for my anymore lol. It'd be 198 after my FAN discount.

Its not like I even need the data, the two lines with 200mb use about 80mb each month. Was just trying to save some money :(

Wow this rivals gophone prepaid.

What are the taxes and fees, anyone get a quote?

Currently have 2 line on gophone 2gb a piece for $120 total.

GoPhone is targeted for people with no/bad credit, so they're ripe for being ripped off.

However what the GoPhone plan does offer is unlimited international text (text out of the US), which normally costs like 20¢ a message. That's convenient for international students.

Otherwise it's pretty terrible value in my opinion.

Wait what? What's wrong with the $60 gophone unl talk text and 2gb lte data plan?
There isn't a better single line value on att. There are no taxes or fees.

I see AT&T stopped offering the individual plans.

My bad.

I think a lot of you are missing the fact that current customers under contract can switch to the new plans and not have to renew commitments. That means for my plan 20 gb of data goes from 200 a month to 150 and the smart phones each drop from 30 to 15 I have a total of 7 smart phones on my account. My total savings per month. My monthly is dropping from 410 to 255 a month. Meaning my savings per month are 155 dollars and by the time sept rolls around id save 1240 enough to buy two iPhones off of contract.

I'd be curious to see what the actual bill looks like for 2 lines.

~$150?

Current customers can switch to the new plans, but will be paying $40 a month until their original contracts run out, then it drops to $15.

Incorrect this is directly off of the Att press release.
Current AT&T customers can save big with these new plans, too, when they choose a 10GB or larger bucket of data. For example, a family or small business with four smartphones could move to this new plan and save between $40 and $100 per month, depending on their current plan.5 - See more at: http://about.att.com/newsroom/att_launches_best_ever_prices_for_families_on_its_best_in_class_4g_lte_network.html#sthash.49vYDWEU.dpuf

Also see details for number 5 it says at the end of the current term customers have to sign up for next no contract or bring your own device. It's when you choose to upgrade if you don't upgrade with next you'll go to paying 40 dollars it's a no brainer

130 actually. 100 for the plan 15 each for smart phone

Occasional lurker here, just made an account to ask actually - is there some kind of catch with these new plans? My family of four recently switched to AT&T's no-contract shared data plan, bringing our own unlocked phones, and we pay $180 for unlimited talk/text/6GB shared. This seems like it would be 4GB more data for 20 dollars less, and I'm suspicious given the fact that it's AT&T. Are they really feeling that much pressure from other providers?

The pricing on these is comparable to T-Mobile's, for way better LTE coverage:

T-Mobile no-contract, 4 2.5GB lines - $140/month
AT&T no-contract, 10GB shared - $160/month

Any carrier charges taxes and fees that's not a valid argument. You'll be paying 130 for services rendered plus taxes and fees

Att always charges taxes and fees on top of their advertised postpaid rates. I really doubt they are changing for this plan.

The catch is if you have a contract you don't save money. Otherwise it's substantial savings.

Earlier I said I currently have 2 lines on att gophone for $120 out the door. I'm looking for the bottom line here..

Prepaid does not have taxes or fees ( or rather, it's included in the advertised price).

Att does charge taxes on pre paid go phone accounts. Try reloading online over the phone or with a sales rep in a store you'll be charged taxes. Only time it's not charged to you is at a payment kiosk because for those paying there the machines don't take change so Att eats the cost of the tax.

The website is officially up. I followed it through their press release. Www.att.com/mobilesharesavings

Clearly states existing customers under an agreement prior to the 2nd of February can switch and take advantage of the savings.

Whatever man I buy $60 refills on eBay for ~$53 ...wasn't looking to get into this :-/

Just was hoping someone posts their actual bill amount at some point.

Wow, I'm shocked - so I can just call them tomorrow to switch my plan and save $20 a month? That's great news, and I'm not sure why anyone would choose any carrier over AT&T for a family plan at these prices, unless AT&T doesn't work well in their area.

It'll still be $40 per extra line so I don't see how you're saving anything.

Just call them today and have it take effect tomorrow.

Ok upon re evaluation of ATT's website it seems like the price listed for ATT Next 12 is not dividing the payments up for 12 months but rather 20.

Therefore...

AT&T

For Three Lines (iPhone 5S 32 GB):

iPhone 5S 32GB - $37.50 x 3 = $112.50 x 20 = $2250 over 20 months.

Plan - $145 x 24 Months = $3480

Price for Two Years: $5730 (No Taxes, Fees, Or FAN, NO Activation Fee)

Verizon

iPhone 5S 32GB - $300 x 3 = $900

Plan - $220 x 24 Months = $5280

Activation Fee - $30 x 3 = $90 (Sometimes Can Get Waived)

Verizon for Two Years: $6270 (No Taxes, Fees, Or FAN)

Now you save money if you own your phone already or if you buy a cheaper phone (Even Used) Really puts the price we pay for cell phone service into perspective.

I was just going to post this!

I could save a decent amount of money by bringing over my three lines.

I've still done the math. ATT still ripping people off even from their current mobile sharing plans

$100 (10gb data) plus $30 per line x 5 lines. That's $250/month BEFORE SUBSIDIES
considering high end phones like iPhones get subsidize around $450 per line. That comes out to around $18/line x 5 lines per month. So $90 subsidy per month for 5 lines.

$250-$90 (subsidies x 5 lines). Equals to real time around $160/month under old mobile share plan

Now new plans (no subsidy) $175 per month for 5 lines (no subsidy).

I am not adding taxes, fan discounts etc.

Yup folks. ATT has found a BACKDOOR way to increase your monthly bill by $15/month!

Sure you can argue you have to pay a $36/activation x 5 lines with subsidy. So in the event you don't get it waived. We all know they waive it pretty easy these days.

So $36x 5=$180 in activation fees

Still you are paying $15/month more with new plans. And with the old mobile share they decrease your bill $15/month per line once you finish your contract.
