Surprise
Less than a week already got a small scratch on my AW8. As I posted elsewhere I upgraded from a AW5 to a AW8 because I had some scratches and a nick on it on top of poor battery life.

I really thought they had improved the scratch protection since the AW5, I guess not.

I don't even know how it happened.

if aluminum case the screen will scratch. You need to go to SS for Sapphire glass.
In addition to this screen protectors are hard to stay put since screen is not flat. Return it if you can. Ultra is the way to go.

This is why I always opt for the Stainless model. All the best! You could return it and get a new one? Is it unethical, sure, but at least you'd be content with your purchase, hehe.

Yup, if you have the aluminum model, it will scratch. It's glass. Sapphire I have yet to have scratch. S2 and S4 watches have perfect faces after years.

Scratches can happen at any time. Drag a blade across it and it will scratch whether it's a minute or a year old.

My aluminium SE had no scratches on it. No scratches on my aluminium S8 either so far. Treat them well and they won't scratch.

Yeah, I was babying it. That is what is even more frustrating. It is also on a weird spot (bottom left) and have no idea how I would have scratched it. At least on my AW5 (and my AW4 before previously) I know exactly how/when they happened.

I have a few traditional watches (that of course spend a lot less than on) that I've had for ~30 years that don't have a single scratch on them.

I resisted the SS before because I actually like the looks of the Silver Aluminum better, don't want/need cellular, didn't want the extra weight and didn't of course want to spend an extra $350.

anyhow pretty frustrated...

I use the following to protect my aluminum model.
