I know, right? I can’t imagine that Steve Jobs would have ever felt compelled to continue working on a product line that didn’t feature the Apple branding, especially considering that Apple wants to desperately sell you on their AirPods (Max) line of headphones. It’s still all a bit weird to me.
Steve Jobs felt compelled to make some bad decisions. Indeed he might have had failed on this one too.
But he did a lot of very good decisions, like seeing Tim Cook as the one to lift apple to new heights, which he did.

These look like they were designed to compete with all those other non-Apple buds out there. AirPods is king of the buds and in a category all by themselves. Now, Apple will use these beats to attempt to completely take over the market.

I think Apple’s number 1, Beats is number 2, Bose and Sony close behind, then everybody else. They likely won’t “take over” but is likely to “maintain” their position.

Ugh for us who would love AirPods Pro but can’t have them because like every AirPod before them they fall right out of ours ears so need a hook like the PowerBeats Pro.. desperately waiting for that product to be updated and now a little nervous that these other no hook beats are coming out which means the hook style may not be updated for even longer.
got wing tips for my airpods pro for this very reason, making them the best pair of earphones i’ve ever owned by far. Never fall out no matter what, gives me the peace of mind to never worry about it at all and it feels great.

I only see myself upgrading in 2024 or later, after my replacement APPs that I get on the last day of my applecare in 2022 start having battery issues.

Apple may never get rid of their iconic white stem design for the in-ear AirPods so being able to have other colors and hardware designs through Beats does add a nice layer of variety.

I was holding out for Powerbeats Pro 2 but these will do. I wanted something black but that was smaller. BINGO!

I’m really surprised Apple has kept the Beats brand around. Normally they seem to swallow up acquisitions.
The brand has value. It still outsells the rest of the industry. As long as that’s the case, it’s still valuable for them to keep the “b”

Does your case close completely without taking off the wing tips? If so, can you shoot me a link?

Every pair I've seen so far keeps the lid from completely closing.

What do you want from an update? I got a pair of PBP a couple of months ago and love them. Wouldn’t phase me in the slightest if a new set came out tomorrow.
There will always be new tech just get what you need when you need and live a happy life.

Why would they kill a brand that makes money?
Many android users don’t want to buy Apple products, many android users also don’t realise they’re buying Apple products.

Returned my 13-day old AirPod pros after seeing this. Glad I saw this before the return window closed. If they aren't as good, I can always go back to those.

The biggerst problem with the PowerBeats Pro is the charging conection. I often find one has not seated properly in the case and is flat when I need it for a run.

Something which fits more snugly in the charging case and doesn’t accidently discharge would be better.

Of course I do not expect these being lossless compatible, but I do hope they'll be spatial audio compatible.
When on my desktop I'll still go with my dac-decent cable-decent headphones setup, but I'd love something like this in mobility.

I'll watch these closely

These look pretty cool!

I wonder if they'll have transparency / noise cancellation, or more regular AirPod feature set?

And I wonder if the pressure valve type of thing is still there, that is one thing nice about Pro and the PowerBeat Pro, you don't get that pressure built up in the ears.

Airpods, Airpods Max, Airpods Pro, Powerbeats, Urbeats, Powerbeats Pro, Beats Studio wireless 3, Beats Solo Pro, and now Beats Studio Buds? Apple has the best line of headphones. And yes that includes Bose.
