I like to tabs on top. Great feature, because it saves space on small monitors. Smart Apple skipped this feature.

Too bad too. I was playing with the Safari 4 beta and liked the tabs on top. In fact, just as I got used to them Apple released the final version and... the tabs were back at the bottom!

I find that generally speaking, Chrome's interface is VERY efficient. I like how it handles the status bar in particular and how you can have your bookmarks bar ONLY show up on a new page. I also like that search and the address bar are merged.

The newest release cleared up a few issues I had with it too. (Those being: Exposé never worked right for Chrome in Snow Leopard and some script intensive pages would just die.)

firefox > safari > chrome

for those of you who don't know, google chrome sends information about you back to google. your isp, searches, pages visited etc are all recorded by google.

ive also heard google may sell this information to third parties

enjoy your big brother browser

if you use firefox, download the Grapple Crisp theme. it looks like safari 4 beta, with the tabs streamlined to the top.

...we already discussed this. Every browser on the market with a search engine does the same thing. Your ISP contain records about you as well and can sell it to third parties. There's no way to avoid this.

there are about a dozen ways of doing this. What I like most is autodial, which display the most visited sites when open a new tab, automatically generated, and no previews to offer more websites, and faster.

After a few hours of testing I'm sold. Put it simply, I'm using less mouse clicks with Chrome than I was with now trashed Safari. Cheers Google.:)

well said my friend.

I actually uninstalled flash completely the other day.

The only time I've been tempted to re-install was the something called "logorama" on Facebook and the Dell Mini 5 hands-on on Engadget.

.. plus loads of Youtube videos in HTML5. (bumped into 2 random vids on youtube that weren't available in HTML5/h.264) I'm getting by pretty well without flash in my life. :)

The HTML5 video beta option on YouTube works with Safari and Chrome. We are all working towards life without Flash.

I've noticed that even though Chrome has tabs on top, it doesn't save any space compared with Safari (in fact, it's bigger)

Not a problem or anything, just an observation

People may be saying it is smaller due to the bookmark bar being hidden by default.

Either way, it's not the be all and end all of either browser! :)

I love Chrome but since this update, I'm getting error's when working in Wordpress, which is annoying.

the more I use it...

...the more I like it. All sorts of fresh ideas regarding user notifications (upload progress, etc). Best of all is using the url bar to search. Ahhh. I like it! :D

Very interesting indeed...

I've stopped using Chrome on OSX simply because there was no bookmark manager which was a deal-breaker. I'm updating it when I get home and see if this new version can make me replace Firefox as my default web browser.

I haven't touched Safari in a while though. I like the main pages wall and the clean UI but the lack of an "awesome bar" is even worse than not having a bookmark manager IMO. I just can't understand how I'm expected to remember how every bookmark URL begins to get to it without going to the menus. If I have a link on "www.example.com/greatexample" I want to type in "great" and it shows up as a suggestion. The fact that Safari is still missing this small feature is indeed inexcusable.

i noticed that too. It does mean however, that they are still developing the java rendering engine to perfection. I hope that they'll fix this issue soon though, just kick ie9 in the face.

javascript?

im not sure if that really affect acid3.

first i dont think its that important. second is that its more accurate to load a page and compare the content displayed, the page display might also affect how a browser utilized the viewable space. so you can have more content with less space..

Is there a decent ad block yet? In past experiences with Chrome, nothing compared to Adblock Plus for Firefox.

The Adblock and Adthwart Chrome extensions are pretty good.

I've had both Adblock and Adthwart on Chrome in Windows and it has been good.
Now with this new beta of Chrome for Mac, I put Adblock on it. I've noticed that it is blocking too much (ie, blocking normal graphics for .edu sites).
Just a Hint: If you go to the options of AdBlock, you can enter in sights to "Don't run AdBlock on domains that end with..." ... and you can simply enter in .edu or .org to make sure they never block .edu or .org sites. I've done this and it is making things much better.

One thing I really wish they implemented into Chrome is the favicons in the "Awesome Bar" search.. Without them it's difficult to distinguish between the bookmarks and other links it provides upon the search....

What do you mean by this?

What do you mean by this?

What I mean is something like Firefox does. When you enter your search into "Awesome bar", the bookmarks links that come up include favicons, but in Chrome there are no favicons really in its "Awesome bar", which makes it a bit hard to distinguish which one is which - which one is your bookmarks link, and which one is actually a google search link that it will come up with.
