Tiburons are everywhere, many people buy them because they are cheap. The old adage "you get what you pay for" holds true with Hyundais. Kias are worse than Hyundais even though they are a sister company.

I'll compare people who like the styling of Hyundai to people who wear muumuus, sure you think it's alright but everyone else is turning their head in disgust.

That said, in reality I do realize that everyone is different and has different needs or desires. Many people think my car is ugly, stupid, too small and not a true sports car. That is of course until they get burnt by a MINI on the track. The thing is I do not respect Hyundai as a company and would not support them in any way.

The rebates only rebates they're giving out right now are ones for current hyundai owners for $500 and another one for $1000 for 2006 models only to help clear them out. The Sonata is Hyundai's best seller and pretty much always has been. Look how many you see on the road. I assume you don't own a Hyundai which mades your credibility low.

Another thing is the warranty is a major deciding factor for many people. I've known people to get Hyundais just because of the warranty. What do I have to say about the warranty? Well, When I had the 2004 Elantra, hubcaps were torn up pretty bad from driving and stuff, also, my vanity mirror cover broke off because I was careless. Brought my Hyundai to the dealer where I got it, and they replaced EVERYTHING I asked them to, no problem at all. The hubcaps wouldn't even have been covered by the warranty. Of course, your mileage will vary.

More and more companies are upping their warranties, Hyundai is not the only one with 100K powertrain warranty. 10 years ago I went back to Mitsubishi dealer because by accident I scratched the rear window heat thread and the entire glass was replaced without any hassle. It really depends on the people working at the dealer shop, I have heard a lot of good stories but also a lot of not so good ones. It really doesn't depend on any particular car company but rather on individual dealerships on quality of service.

I never owned a Hyundai but couple of people I know have and most of them don't have a lot of good things to say about it. For most part they are reliable but it's the little things that make the car less desirable most notably build quality like clicking noises or parts starting to stick out/fall out. Hyundai makes people movers, nothing special, they don't have any heritage, no spirit, which is evident in their styling.

wow, such buyers remorse, or need to defend the precious hyandai....

cute.

never the less, im sorry, they are cheap cars. i dont have to have owned one to say its a crap car. i never owned a pinto, but i can safely say its crap.

"Where have you been over the past 4-5 years? Apparently not keeping up with cars. Their interiors are made with better materials than what's in most budget cars today."

----so, wait, your saying a hyuandai is better than a budget car? news flash. a hyuandai IS a budget car. There arent many cheaper new cars available. And your right, i know nothing of cars at all.....

I am active in the car community, attend many shows such as SEMA and the Detroit Auto Show each year, as well as go to many other events where i get to pretty much scope out and drive any vehicle in production. Frankly, I had one hyandai as a rental car once, it sucked. sorry. it did. it was cheesy, cheap, and just felt like a crappy car all around (performance, handling, braking). for some people, sure its an ok car, just for my money I would much rather have a car from a more reliable company. By that i mean, a PROVEN track record for years of good quality cars, not one or two years on some list of reliablity.

No, it is that people like yourself continue to try to make him feel bad about his choice. The decent thing is to congratulate him, and keep quite on your opinions AFTER the purchase had been made.

so your saying its a good car company, becuase they replaced a $20 plastic hubcap, and a $5 mirror? wow, they totally hooked you up with the royal treatment. are you kidding?

my dealer gives me brand spanky new 06 luxury SUVs as a loaner, pick me up from work in it to deliver, deliver my car to my work when its done and have never had anything really break in the car that they would have to replace, as its a quality car. It has 60k miles on it, and still looks and feels like the day it was delivered.

its not like me saying hyandai are cheap cars is revealing some huge secret.

its widely known. i would rather ride a 30 year old vespa than any hyuandai.

Sutekidane, because some just do not get it - I have reported this thread for closure for you.

Don't let the know it alls ruin your new pride and joy. Many of are very happy for you. :)

It's funny that the relative few owners of Hyundais here have said nothing but positive about their cars, the the only people making the negative comments don't even currently owned one and possibly have never owned one.

Jeez, a lot of you guys are no better than Apple bashing PC users, since they use the same tactics.
