I see where you're coming from but from my admittedly hazy recollection of those ads/commercials, they usually didn't come off as very funny to me, even though I have enjoyed the works of John Hodgman now and again. In some ways, the ads seemed to serve to make PC users seem dumb as well, in a "We're so much better than PCs that why would you use a PC unless you're okay with an inferior product?" kind of way. Perhaps I'm reading more into them than necessary and it'd be cleared up if I went back and looked at some of those ads now. Regardless, I'm glad that they eventually moved away from those, though I suppose that was largely predicated on the fact that they became the top dog and when you're top dog, you don't need to acknowledge the rest.IMO, the reason I accept the Mac VS PC ads is because they are still not just plain attacking Windows. They express the cons of Windows in a humorous way, while being not necessarily always correct, some of them were accurate and use sarcasm and stuff to not look absolutely evil. That's not the case with Samsung's ads. They literally attack and insult every company around them to praise them. Unless you're some kind of "political sadist", you will not enjoy their ads and if you use any of the products mentioned, you will feel insulted.
To be honest, I've not watched many of Samsung's ads because I know they're basically attack ads, such as the ones before about iPhone users being attached to walls (always needing to look for an outlet). I remember one coming off fairly creepy as well, and some making it seem like you'll get a woman just because you use Samsung. Ugh..............
