IMO, the reason I accept the Mac VS PC ads is because they are still not just plain attacking Windows. They express the cons of Windows in a humorous way, while being not necessarily always correct, some of them were accurate and use sarcasm and stuff to not look absolutely evil. That's not the case with Samsung's ads. They literally attack and insult every company around them to praise them. Unless you're some kind of "political sadist", you will not enjoy their ads and if you use any of the products mentioned, you will feel insulted.
I see where you're coming from but from my admittedly hazy recollection of those ads/commercials, they usually didn't come off as very funny to me, even though I have enjoyed the works of John Hodgman now and again. In some ways, the ads seemed to serve to make PC users seem dumb as well, in a "We're so much better than PCs that why would you use a PC unless you're okay with an inferior product?" kind of way. Perhaps I'm reading more into them than necessary and it'd be cleared up if I went back and looked at some of those ads now. Regardless, I'm glad that they eventually moved away from those, though I suppose that was largely predicated on the fact that they became the top dog and when you're top dog, you don't need to acknowledge the rest.

To be honest, I've not watched many of Samsung's ads because I know they're basically attack ads, such as the ones before about iPhone users being attached to walls (always needing to look for an outlet). I remember one coming off fairly creepy as well, and some making it seem like you'll get a woman just because you use Samsung. Ugh..............

You obviously have no idea what Samsung Pay is. It's not like Android Pay or Apple Pay where you use NFC, it used the magnetic stripe so you can touch it to ANY terminal that you swipe a credit card on, even if it doesn't support NFC.
That sounds real secure...

Samsung accomplished what their commercial was intending. Pissing off Apple users haha
You mean pissing off everyone who isn't a Sammy fanboy and confusing everyone as well. Think about how much money traffic on this forum (just to look at this thread) gives to companies like Google. :D

Google deserves it more than Samsung, their android phones were always so much better and weren't filled with terrible bloatware.

I think the intention was to convince the fence sitters to roll with Samsung devices instead of giving their money to Apple.

Negative attack ads... it's like politics and elections.

Oh ffs not again

True, stock Android is the best.

Stock Android is bland. The best variant closest to stock is Sony Xperia's version. Too bad Sony installs plenty of crapware from Sony Mobile Communications... they can only be removed if you root the phone.

Motorola is the best for a faithful stock Android experience (since Motorola is now the OEM bitch of Google), but the cameras on Motorola phones are abysmal.

Thanks Surf Donkey. Really seems like a good solution that ensures they get a lot of penetration. It's a shame Apple didn't move forward with that technology first.

It doesn't secure enough. It broadcasts your CC ID and need to store your CC information on the phone.

But didn't Apple use to make fun of Samsung about big phones ? Now look at them.

I think you're confusing Microsoft for Apple.

Microsoft (the undisputed king of tech neg attack ads) made fun of both Apple and Samsung, in an attempt to get more people to switch to Windows phones. That didn't work, but hey, Microsoft has tons of money to burn for 'strategic marketing'. ;)

I have seen this before. It's hilarious, and actually describes the haters on the Internet. :) But switching to a phone just because nobody fights over it is incredibly stupid.
