New Comparison Photo of Matte iPhone Enclosure?

A white one would also be nice though...

What really makes this iPhone look cheap are the Quality Assurance icons on the back. They are too big, and too prominently visible in white. What's next: a barcode?

now if they had made the battery removable and print those stuff on the inside... hahaha let's go 2 years back in time...

You returned an item, that you dropped a dozen times because you are unable to hold on to, for a refund?

Can you send us the name of the store clerk that allowed this? I'm sure there are thousands of people that were playing Rolando on the toilet that would want their drowned iPhone replaced for free...

I am always very careful when opening a new device of any kind. I sit on the floor where I have a very thick carpet. The dang thing just kept popping out of my hands and I never even charged or activated it before putting it back into the box and returning it.

Matte or Glossy

51%matte
49%Glossy
I think the weight of the phone always "indicated" a nice design. You know how some phones just feel cheap and hollow. never the case with the iphone.
an aluminum revisit to the new design would be interesting.

Function, not form is so much more important to me... firmware 3 will address some things, but it's hard to get caught up in the matte vs ??? discussions.

There are more important functional issues:

- lack of volume (has this improved in later versions?) I've missed a lot of calls when the phone is as close as my pocket!

- I can't believe that safari supports landscape keyboard but texting doesn't?????

- I hate trying to take pictures indoors when everyone else seems to have a flash in their phone and my pictures quite literally don't make it worth trying. Outdoors, fine.

- Surprised how many Youtube videos I can't watch because it says it's in a format that can't be played. I know they're experimenting with up to 2000 k/bytes / second ... how will this be remedied when you buy movies wirelessly. Your iPhone downloads an iPhone version and when you sync with your computer, it downloads the 'big' one?

That and better Outlook meeting information in Calendar (meeting attendees, etc.) and I'd be more than happy. VERY doable.

Matte. Hm... I was hoping the next time I would see this word pop up in a Mac Rumors headline it would be in relation to 15" MBP screens.

i love this idea but how reliable is the source and if it i true when will the Launch date realistically be... im guessing july 17 but what do you all think...

I haven't read the whole post in case someone already mentioned it, but:

Doesn't it look a bit photochopped? Look at the camera lens - looks like someone blurred it, and little chrome bezel around the camera looks blurred too.

Another thought - where's camera flash!?

apple almost always improve their hardware so it will make the older versions feel/look...older - so i guess that it will be the same now.

however - this is hardly something that is "mind blowing" - something someone said earlier (sarkasm?).

i am still a firm believer of the importance of adding an iphone nano to the "line" of iphones.

Also, why are the pixels around the info at the bottom all crazy?

I think if it's as rubbery as it looks then it might not look great. When they use plastic it should be shiny and look edible, after all that is what Ive was inspired by when he looked around that confectionery factory. I just think shiny plastic looks... more special...

it looks as if it's slimmer and has auto focus

if you look at the bevel of the sheen one, the matte one actually looks flatter, and thus thinner...

also the camera looks very different. not only the surrounding metal ring, but it seems to have a deeper lens...

just my thoughts.

Don't get too excited about the new iPhone

Speaking to sources within AT&T I've learned that the shiny rather matte iPhone next-gen will not be available until the November time frame ready for the holiday shopping season. While details may be released in June don't expect hands joy. Ahhhh. . . delayed gratification . . . SUCKS!!

About 6 months ago I interviewed with Apple and when asked what the worst design decision was the Apple made, I mentioned the redesign from first gen to second gen iPhone. I can grip the sides of the original iPhone and can slap egrips onto the edges to make it even easier. However, the second gen iPhone is shaped like a used bar of soap, has no edge to grip, and hence no place for egrips. I returned mine for a refund after I dropped it a dozen times when I got it home from the at&t store.

evolution gave you opposable thumbs for a reason you know, you should try using them

IF this was real, wouldn't Apple issue a Cease and Desist.

Or do they avoid that to preserve the element of suprise?

AT&T doesn't know anything, they are trained a month before hand which means after the New one is announced and not given all the details, they just act like they know, don't believe them. :D

I might need to see the matte in person, but the only reason I'd upgrade (if this was the only change for the next iphone.. which I know is not the case, but lets SUPPOSE for a minute here haha) is because it'll help me drop it less. As long as the 'insides' for the same, I don't really care matte or shiny.
