Clearly, some people have no idea how to just have a good time. Not every film can - nor should - be another superhero reboot. Wolf’s won‘t win any awards but was perfectly fun. Even Clooney says he and Pitt did it because A) they should they would have a blast doing it and B) they really liked the director and wanted to help.

You know who it stars and this... "Wolfs" follows two professional fixers played by Pitt and Clooney who must work together to cover up a high-profile crime." Do you really need to know more?
Maybe why they misspelled “wolves”

Edit: just read a few more comments and it’s obviously a joke you figure out in the movie

Amazon has controversially pulled the same trick with some of their films. Promising a theatrical release to get talent to sign on and then reneging to making it streaming-exclusive, because they can save money and avoid paying “backend” royalties to talent which are based on box office receipts.

Director Doug Liman has been very vocal/angry about it.

Liman also got caught lying about the whole thing. He said it was a big bait and switch, but Variety later reported that Amazon/MGM offered them two different budgets, and Liman elected $85 million for a streaming release rather than $60 million for a theatrical release. Gyllenhaal also diplomatically stated that Lyman was lying and that Amazon had been very clear it would be a streaming release.

It has happened with others as well, and your point is well taken, just noting that the Liman example would up being a bit complicated.

They want to be in Hollywood. Seems like a good idea. But mid-vanilla content will never break bank. No matter how many A-listers they can bring on board.
There are many different ways to break into Hollywood. Some companies go for the awards, some go for genre and some go for big stars. Apple mostly goes after awards and when the script doesn’t seem award-worthy, they go for big names like Clooney and Pitt. And those guys also bring their own production houses into the mix too to create relationships for future projects with Apple. Apple is doing all the right timings but it takes time and Apple isn’t used to losing money on any endeavors so they might get impatient before they can fully conquer Hollywood.

This is like a made for TV movie. Not much of a plot. I would give it 3 stars out of 10.

I thought it was like 6/10 - pretty ok.

I like their way of working together, and it was funny at times too.
This time around at 🍎TV I mostly watched some movies.
