No need to be so dramatic. I'm sure a pellet gun would take care of the situation very nicely.
I thought about that, but it would be really hard to hit a moving drone unless people have pellet guns that spray. Maybe if drones become a daily problem, people will buy those. Kids would have a blast with the AirSoft version.

I know what happened ...

DJI have firmware installed that as time goes on and with more usage, the power and speed of the motors is throttled back.

This results in slow response of the drone to user inputand pauses of the motors.

It’s all to preserve the battery you see but dji didn’t think you’d want to know about it.

Heck they may even offer cheap battery replacement program if the public find out and complain !

;)

With all the trees in place now the possibility of defensive birds is real. I’ve had one unit struck by a large hawk. I was able to recover and I set it down immediately. My video was very similar. Just sayin...... :apple:
Would be really exciting if you could see the hawk coming, haha.
Edit: Well, it's been done:

This is a opportune moment for Apple to show some humanity and return the drone to the pilot. Yes, he couldve damaged their building or worse, hurt a pedestrian, but thankfully it doesn't appear to be either. Let's have a happy ending to this story and do the right thing.... not the arrogant choice.

guess apple now wants to protect their secret so much that they have EMP in place to prevent spy drones now. good on them to protect their intellectual properties

Not only am I nearly certain that Apple will not give it back to him (I hope I'm wrong, but knowing Apple...), but they are probably going to now make it explicitly clear that you are not allowed to fly drones above the campus without permission.

This probably means no more flyover footage, which is a shame, because I've always looked forward to those at the beginning of every month. :(

Apple doesn’t have jurisdiction over airspace. Only the FAA

That is a great shot. Most likely did not end well for the Hawk. The blades can easily dismember even a raptors limbs with todays Carbon Fiber. Doesn't look very high. Hopefully plastic blades. :apple:

Lol where do u live dud? Will be funny to go there and fly my drone over these houses 2 see how many rambos machos i can find. Its a free country and it’s my drone and i fly it where i want because the air it’s free so why not u know what i mean? I made tons of vids so far never had a problem

Dude, you seriously need to get yourself some help. You're wrong on so many counts.

Question is, do his laws allow for civilian shotgun ownership? Cause I guarantee if you fly that around my hometown, someone will use it for target practice within a few minutes.
I reckon it would be hard to shoot down a drone unless they fly low. They are not big stuff and personally I don't fly lower than 50-60 metres. Not saying one should annoy neighbours, but shooting something that high would be challenging I guess.

Drones should be forbidden for most people, luckily we have laws here to prevent such behaviour, even better, later on you need to get expensive papers for them.

Drones are no toys, even though most people think they are.

They are indeed not toys and should be used with enough knowledge. But it won't/shouldn't be forbidden for most people. Where do you live?

Apple may have anti-drone disabling tech, may be the cause of the unknown failure

I think 50-60 meters isn't out of range, depending on what gun and ammo you're using. That range with birdshot is considered non-effective for cleanly killing birds, but I think it would cripple an average civilian drone, and it wouldn't be hard to hit. Slugs have longer range and might require more skill to hit the mark, but I wouldn't know what the tradeoff is there. I've only ever shot clay pigeons.

I wonder who was more disappointed, the drone owner or the hawk?
The hawk probably had fun, assuming it didn't get injured (which maybe it did :()

If apple doesn’t return the drone it’s theft.
Oh, if I go to your house and leave a peanut there willingly right on top of your chimney, can I sue you for not not climbing up the chimney and ... well.... stealing my peanut?

- the roof of Apple is easily accessible
- it's corporate not a household
- it's not a peanut but a couple hundred euro drone
