I would vote for both. Wired, as others have said, is future-proof (as long as you run gigabit) and more secure. It's also much less of a hassle than spending hundreds on new equipment when a new wireless standard comes around and is easier for streaming HD to multiple TVs/base station in your house.

Also, go wireless for the portability factor for laptops, PDAs, cell phones, etc. that can benefit from this.
 
I own a business that installs Low Voltage Cabling for Voice and Data. I would install wires, where at all possible. I would be more than happy to give you any pointers, I would look for a Electrical Supply house in your area to ordewr the cables jacks and patchcords. I think you will find your cost lower than Home Depot or Lowes. If I were you I would use PANDUIT jacks and faceplates. I use them on all the jobs I do and never have any problems and they are easy to install. I hire collge kids in the summer who with very little training can put these in.
