Uhhhhh.. I just checked the FedEx shipping information today and now all the sudden my estimated delivery date is the 10th and not the 9th  I love how they just slap up dates on that thing that apparently mean nothing since they can just change them at will. uhhh.... dumb

My iBook tracking is currently showing 'shipment on hold, requested by K'.

ETA is still 08 aug 05, though i can't get through to the TNT tracking.

Anyone else getting the same?

Any advice?

Been reading through this thread and wondered whether anyone could give me any advice as to how to track my order...

Here's the readout of the status page from the apple site:

I placed my order on the 30th of July, and about 2 days later it changed status to 'shipped' but didn't display a tracking number until I dug around on the apple site and found a different link to the order status page which did provide me with one although they don't seem to be in the right format for any of the carriers... i've tried putting all of them in the various tracking pages to no avail. Anyone been in this situation?

Cheers!

Chris

You should have received an email from apple with a number starting '08'
Put this number (I think there are 10 digits)
in to this site:

http://www.apecode.com/appletrack/

Can sometimes take a while to start tracking the job - but it does store your number in there - bookmark it and keep going back every 2 minutes, as I am waiting for my new ibook!!

Best of luck :D

That's the thing, I never received a 'shipped' email from apple, which really confuses me, since the order status page indicates that they have shipped the order...

Received my iBook just before lunchtime.

Quibbles:

The return key is far too small;

The diskdrive is rather noisy isn't it?

TNT tracking now shows my ibook as having been delivered in Dublin! I live 100 miles away from Dublin! Phoned Apple and they are contacting TNT but TNT have 3 working days to respond. Could be a tracking website error or they could have misdelivered it! Anybody had a similar experience before?

Managed to retrieve the reference number from apple over the phone, and the apecode tracker is showing the following:

03 aug 05 90 75 truck arrived at final destination UKBHX90 03 aug 05
02 aug 05 86 14 booking slot obtained K+N Cork 03 aug 05
02 aug 05 30 64 Departed from source UKBHX90 04 aug 05
02 aug 05 86 16 Delay due to EDI-issue with supplier KN High Tech Logistics
02 aug 05 00 04 Picking confirmed, EDI received UKBHX90

Last time it was scanned seems to be 3rd of August, TNT doesn't seem to have it on file yet... so frustrating! And it's coming to Edinburgh so I've no idea why it's in Cork... Also the tracking page only shows the part number of one of the three items i've ordered, which is strange.

Yep, based in Cork. Tracked my iBook to Dublin last Friday with TNT, then it was transferred to Cork that evening and delivered to me lunchtime.

TNT tracking records my ibook as being delivered in Dublin, even has the name of the person who signed for it! I'm based in Wexford. Does this mirror your experience? Was your ibook listed as "delivered" and signed for in Dublin before it transferred to Cork?

'em no. This is what I got

08 Aug 2005 12:00 Cork Delivered
08 Aug 2005 09:16 Cork Out For Delivery
06 Aug 2005 08:20 Cork Import Received
05 Aug 2005 13:19 Dublin Consignment Received At Transit Point
05 Aug 2005 13:03 Dublin Import Received
05 Aug 2005 10:10 Dublin Import Received

Yours sounds rather more worrying. I'd call Apple if I were you, it shouldn'nt be up to you to have to chase their delivery. You need to log your concern with them.

TNT are dreadful and they Apple need to be told that.

Can anyone explain what this all means with regard to where my iBook currently is?

08 aug 05 90 75 truck arrived at final destination CNSHA50 09 aug 05
08 aug 05 30 10 departed direct NLAMS07 09 aug 05
05 aug 05 40 69 accept scanned at EDC NLAMS07 11 aug 05
05 aug 05 86 14 booking slot obtained KN Luxemburg
04 aug 05 32 55 flight departed Kuehne & Nagel Shanghai
04 aug 05 32 05 Flight Booked Kuehne & Nagel Shanghai
03 aug 05 30 63 handover at supplier CNSHA50
03 aug 05 00 04 Picking confirmed, EDI received CNSHA50
03 aug 05 30 61 Consignment Booking received from supplier CNSHA50 11 aug 05

I think I can follow most of it, but the truck arriving back in Shanghai is confusing... I'm expecting it to be delivered in the UK.

You shoud be able to track it on TNT's site now.

Mine BTO just was just delivered. 1 Day ahead of schedule. Ordered last Wednesday and it is here today Tuesday.

Pooh! I ordered mine last Wednesday...

Mine has been sitting in Shanghai ("at local FedEx facility") since yesterday at about 11:30 eastern. I was hoping it would be on the plane by now. It was a BTO; I ordered Friday. Looks like I'll be VERY lucky if I get it this Friday. :(

Place your bets...

Pick up date 09 Aug 2005*
Destination Huddersfield*
Delivery Date *

Date Time Location Status
09 Aug 2005* 23:13* Eindhoven* Shipped From Originating Depot*
09 Aug 2005* 20:15* Arnhem Hub* Consignment Received At Transit Point*
09 Aug 2005* 20:15* Arnhem Hub* Consignment Passed Through Transit Point

When do you think I should get my ibook based on the info above and the fact I ordered it last tuesday

Dammit. I paid for 2 day shipping of a BTO 12" ibook., ordered Friday the 4th. FedEx said that it was "At local facility Shanghai on Tueday at 11:30 PM. It sat there for 47 hours; then this morning (10:12 Pm Shanghai time; 10:12 AM here on the east coast of the US) it changed to "Picked up-- SHIPMENT EXCEPTION-- Package received after FedEx cutoff." How could it have been received after the FedEx cutoff when it sat there from Tuesday 11:30 PM until Thursday at 10:12 PM? Neither Apple nor Fedex can give me an explanation on the phone; FedEx now says I can expect it next Tuesday. Apple says they'll credit me the $18 for the express shipping. This sucks.

At least they're crediting you? :( I ordered mine yesterday, and according to my receipt my BTO should be arriving the 18th. From what I've read here, we shall see.

FedEx's tracking site now says to expect receipt on August 16th-- Tuesday-- thats 7 days after the so-called "shipment" and 11 days after the order, provided it actually gets out of China some day. I wonder when I would have gotten it if had hadn't ordered 2 day shipment? I had really counted on having it this weekend.

I ordered my ibook last tuesday and received it today, thursday (9days later)
People are getting confused with the apetrack ETA shifting 2 days earlier than the Apple ETA. This seems to be the ETA when the local carrier receives the package (and the numbered link on the left switches to tracking instead of the not found message).

In my case the Apple estimate was spot on.

Got my ibook and it is really sweet.
Ran it side by side tonight with my sisters 14" 1.2ghz - seem faster, but nothing installed yet. Blitzes her on battery life though!
Oh and she's p*ssed about not having ripples on dashboard.

Love the 2 button scrolling - really does work. Can be installed on older ibooks though - shareware.

Could you post a picture? I'm don't know what this "ripple effect" is of which everyone speaks.
