iBook on Finnish soil this morning 7.43 am! Just called TNT, and they said it had gone through customs in Netherlands, and so there isn't any hassle of that sort in Finland anymore. They said they have to check if it could make Tampere today, and asked if I was in the shipping address today. She took my phone number and said that she'll call me when she knows the details.
Looks like TNT doesn't suck after all...

Last time I bought direct from Apple they managed to lose my iMac in 2003. I was getting anxious about why it was taking so long and when I enquired, Apple said that it had already been delivered to me I had signed for some peripherals also in the order.
Then I got a call from the airport saying they had my computer and they faxed me an Irregularity Report but Apple said that they still couldnt find it.
I eventually managed to get through to a Customer Service Manager difficult to do as I was told they are Not Customer Facing and this individual undertook to find my computer when I told him I knew exactly where it was in the airport and I wanted someone from Apple to get it from there to my office - he said it was most irregular that the airport should contact me and that the it would have to be moved through the correct logistical channels
At this point I lost it
Eventually, later that afternoon, his PA walked into my office with my new iMac, she had driven to the airport herself and collected it.
My business partner still complained that if I hadnt pursued the matter I would still be waiting for my iMac and wanted recompense for the inconvenience and when she put it to Mr Customer Service Manager, he asked what was she thinking of, I had been thinking a free t-shirt or a mouse mat but I then said What about a free iPod? and he just answered What would you like engraved on it within reason!.
Complained to TNT as well as got a nice letter of apology and a box of chocolates!

With all the excitement, I forgot to post...my iBook arrived at around midday yesterday! That's exactly a week after ordering it! And for people worrying about the online tracking, the TNT one didn't work for me until the day of delivery.
I got my iBook!
Writing with it now! It's absolutely stunning, writing with it now! But seems like I didn't get the iLife CD's with it. Or are they on OS X install disk 2?
If they were supposed to be in it, I'm going to call Apple store right away!

If iLife '05 is installed (check to see if you have iTunes, iMovie HD, iPhoto, iDVD, GarageBand) by default then it should be on your restore discs (with the OS).
You can see it when you select 'Install additional/bundled applications' on the Tiger discs.

Why do you need to reinstall Tiger if you just got the computer? Do you want to cut out some of the things (like extra language support) to save space?
I just ordered a 12" ibook from Apple with a 60 GB BTO harddrive. I'm in Virginia. I ponied up the extra $18 for 2 day shipping. When should I expect to receive it?

So I took the reinstall route, although this sweety is unix and I could have removed those manually as well.bodeh6 said:

Well, I guess I can't complain too much as I'm typing this on the best, most beautiful computer ever conceived of.
Just curious, does anyone know how long my pretty little iBook will have to sit in Arnhem before it can begin the final leg of its journey to me (in the UK)? And once it starts coming on its way from Arnhem, how long will it take to get to Manchester's TNT depot? Just wondering if anyone has any experience or knowledge...

I didn't order an iBook but I did BTO a 15" powerbook. I ordered it on Tuesday of this past week and it shipped on Friday. The FedEx tracking says it will be delivered by Tuesday by 10:30 AM to Indianapolis. It shows it as still being in China today so I will be very surprised if it makes it to me in time... we shall see.
