I purchased my MBP in OCT, when I enter my serial it says it cannot find the serial I provided... What gives?

I did it and it says confirmed just waiting for shipping. I just put in 10/19/2010 cause last night I reinstalled the whole system including iLife 09 so ill pretend im dumb.

I hate to pay another $49 on top of $2500 that I paid so even though I bought my MBP on Sep 22nd, I entered Oct 2nd as the date and serial number, the order went through for 6.99 + tax...I just got confirmation that it is shipped via USPS. Whoever purchased in september, try your luck. You should get it.

Good that everybody is getting it for 6.99 .. looks like the up-to-date site developers forgot to program to test for serial numbers.

i got mine in sept. but i just filled out the form and it let me buy it for 7 bucks i just said that i got it on oct. 1 and i got a notification saying that it was shipped. I didn't think it would, but i guess it works. I suggest you guys try that.

I got an email today saying mine was shipped and I can expect delivery October 26. Screw apple and there 20 day update window...Mine in fact should have came to me with iLife 2010 if Apple would have decided to create it for this year but they didnt so I got an outdated program as per Apple and they want me to pay $50 to *update* not buy new...UPDATE to a few new features. This should be $7 anyway, I already have iLife. The new iLife builds on the current one, not replacing it so why does it deserve a $50 price tag when I already have an iLife suite? AutoCAD and other companys like that actually charge less for the coming years program if you already have it.

I had to come back and post my experience, hopefully helping others. Course I read about iLife '11, saw that Apple was offering an upgrade, came on here, found this thread, decided to try to get it at the lowest price. I purchased my MBP Aug. 31, delivered early Sept. I filled out the online form and qualified. So even though Apple claims a short window for upgrades, they are not being really restrictive about it. As long as you're a recent purchaser, I'm sure it will work. Got two emails so far, one to confirm the order for like ~ $7 bucks, and other said my order shipped, I can even track it. lol Can't wait til it get's here to install (says Oct. 26).

This is my first MBP, so I wonder how the upgrade process will be? Anybody can let me know what to expect? Do I have to uninstall all the older iLife suite and Apps? That sounds kinda complicated. I am hoping it will do it all by itself, automatically. Knowing Apple and seeing what I'm paying for when I purchased the MBP, I hope they make it convenient.

Looks like the Canada database ordering is broken. I'm getting ERROR!

SORRY

An unexpected error has occurred.

WTF!

Why not give it to the people who purchased it in the last half year? What about a year? At what point do you draw the line?

Why do you guys feel entitled to things you never were promised? When you buy a car and it gets revised next month, do you go back to the dealer and demand the updated parts?

Stop being kids. This is the technology sector we are talking about.

you draw the line at the the point before you start to lose money.

60 days is a perfect range.

Since my I purchased my 13" Macbook Pro from Amazon, it won't let me do this online and I have to send the paperwork through the mail for the iLife $6.99 deal. Sucks that I have to wait longer to receive iLife and have to pay my State's outrageous sales tax.

I finally got the upgrade to work online! Wish it would have taken Paypal though.

since most people here seem intent on getting ilife ilegally anyway by falsifying the purchase date, why not just get it "by other means" and install it? it's not if ilife has any serial numbers or anything. its both illegal and it saves the 8 bucks.

i got mine the 29th but am in no hurry to pay EUR49 for an upgrade, it's a lame upgrade anyway. still 32bit and few new features. should have been a free OTA update to ilife 9.1 if you ask me.

Just got mine today! I must say, during the whole shipping process I was a little nervous that they would realize that I had purchased my MacBook in September and cancel the whole thing, but thankfully that didn't happen. I'm very happy with it, and I'm also happy that Apple was more lenient than they usually are with this. :)

You guys need to stop being a bunch of immature kids...

When you ordered your Mac, you were told you were getting iLife '09. Apple doesn't have to offer anyone a cheap update, stop being cheap and cough up the $49 if it's that important to you.
