New iMacs now on Amazon

As for price, Amazon usually doesn't discount until it physically has stock. Sounds like someone is drop shipping for them until that happens. Give it a week and all the resellers have stock. I bet the price will drop $50-100.

So do you think those of us who have already ordered will see the price drop?

FWIW, I now have an estimated delivery date of May 10. I ordered very shortly after they were available on Amazon Wednesday and opted for overnight with Prime.

Nah we won't get the price drop, I'd guess. I've got the May 10th date (after opting for overnight with Prime) as well. Here's hoping they just magically show up tomorrow instead. :)

If they run the promotion again, you get both the discount and the iPod rebate.
 
I'm gonna wait until tomorrow to see if the processing thing is lifted. I get the option of local express delivery so I hope I can get it tomorrow. Otherwise, I'm driving to Delaware for 0% tax!
 
Well, I suppose it's a good thing I ordered as soon as they were available and didn't hold out for the lower price:

Mine still shows a delivery estimate of May 10th. After seeing this, I suppose I'll be happy as long as it shows up no later than the 10th! :)

Well, since Amazon shipping went to over 8 days, I cancelled the order and went to my local Best Buy and they had all models at reduced prices. Add in the sales tax and its almost a wash.

Sorry Amazon, you blew it.

Now I have all weekend to play with my new iMac. :)
 
Looks like there's a chance I might get it before the 10th after all! My status has changed from "Not Yet Shipped" to "Shipping Soon". I will so be on the phone with UPS or FedEx once I have a tracking number to see if I can pick it up at the depot Saturday...

...and it's shipped! Amazon Prime will occasionally deliver packages on Saturday, but that doesn't appear to be the case here as the estimated delivery date is now Monday, May 9th. I can't track it with UPS yet, so I suppose there is still a small possibility, but I doubt it.

But hey, I'm not complaining--it's still a day earlier than I had initially expected.

Lucky! I'm still at "Shipping Soon" with May 10th as the delivery date.
