So, when I get my iMac, I'm gonna be using Logic Pro. Now, I'm on really limited funds here, so I can only afford the $1,199 model. I'm working on an album that I planned to self-release in May. Now, having said that, does anyone think that maybe the coming iMac updates would be good enough that performance in the low-end model would be boosted enough that I should probably wait, and push back my album's release date? Otherwise I planned my trip to the Apple Store for February 8th. It seems like a tough call to me, cuz I've been waiting a long, long time for a new Mac as it is.![]()
First of all you don't need the newest imac to release a album or Logic Pro for good use
If you're serious about making music why go for imac?
Try getting a secondhand Mac Pro 2x2,66Ghz
It gives you PCI-e slots for DSP cards like SSL Duende and UA UAD and audio interfaces or nice graficscards for editing your music video's
I've got the same model with 7GB of RAM and it works top notch
Running Logic Studio, Final Cut Studio 2 and CS4 Photoshop having no problems at all
And for at least 2 more years this Mac Pro will work prefectly for every software or hardware out there making it even more cheaper then buying the newest imac
Imac is cool and all but if you want real power for audio & video editting get
yourself the Big Boy not the baby
