Amazing! New AirPods menu! We live in amazing times!

And this is what passes for headline innovation in iOS 27...

  • A revamped AirPods setting menu that is better organized

An entire year and we get a new menu?
Seriously, the definition of an OS update has really been chucked in the bin. I mean this is really a small . update for some apps, hardly "OS" like tell me you revamped the network stack or how memory is managed, or maybe "we fixed some of the weirdness we missed on the glass transition in the last OS update...", not "we fixed a setting in a pref panel for you"

I honestly just want numbers on the keyboard and a delete all / select all button in iMessage for attachments. Is that too much to ask 😭
Have you asked anyone at Apple yet, say Craig Federighi? If not, why not?
Well, I am afraid they won’t bother to consider feature and improvement requests until quarterly earning results repeatedly and significantly are below expectations.

The ability to set AirPlay alternatives such as Google Cast as default — possibly EU only
I really like this!! Hopefully it will be possible to extend the selection of services with plugins. There are some very promising Open Source multi-room software stacks emerging right now. It would be a shame if Apple only supported systems from the major competitors.

Damn, I was waiting for the Ai to help me use wallet. I have so much trouble trying to pay for things myself. Come on, Apple, Use your Ai for something useful.

I tried the Sony. Great equalizers, great sound... but they've been hurting my ears and returned them. I teste the Jabra a few years ago: great sound, but support ended after a year or two. In the end, integration works best with Airpods but I agree the limitations on sound quality control deceives me a lot. Just a simple graphic equializer... why don't we have that while all the other earpods have that?
Would beats be any different? I know they LOOK way better than the white ear wax dripping out of your ears airpods do.

To add a different view, I couldn’t care less if they didn’t introduce a single thing, including AI features, and purely focused on fixing bugs, making sure things “just work” and improving performance.

I’ve used iphones since the 4s and the last 4 to 5 years I just seem to have more issues. Especially the keyboard, which just gets worse every single year. I thought it was me and getting sloppy with typing, but I found my ipod touch 4th gen from 2010, which still turned on and works a treat. I typed the same paragraph on it and my iphone 15 pro. The touch, first time using it in a decade, had zero errors, my iphone n’s instead of spaces, wrong autocorrect words, it was terrible. I should make a video to show it.

Anyway long story short, I just want every feature to work across iphone, watch, ipad and mac as advertised, cos right now they don’t.

This would be an absolute game changer for those with Google speakers/hubs and use Apple Music/Podcasts like we do in our house.

Although would be very disappointing if it was EU only.
Same here. We have chromecast devices and it's a major headache trying to get them to work with Apple devices, and with Apple Music especially.

All I want is Autocorrect to work after 20 years.

And a way to diagnose battery issues. My 15 pro drains like crazy and there are zero indications in iOS what the culprit is. Or even if there’s an issue.
It would be nice if they could make text selection work better too. It’s always been so finicky, selecting the line above and not the one below I wanted or jumping too far or just generally being really janky.

I guess for webpages and the like the underlying text may be laid out quite differently from how it looks on the screen making interpreting what I’m trying to select difficult, but text selection has worked perfectly well on Mac and Windows for decades, so surely iOS can do it well too!

Not true. In the past I've found that Apple is very receptive to receiving suggestions from customers. And will consider (and in my case, implement the suggestion) and write back thanking me for the suggestion.
