New iPad launch - April 14th

Don't think it wil be today personally but if it was it would be for a event the week of the 17th

I found it very difficult to believe they would leave Pro users out to dry that long, there is a large amount of Air 2 users that would like to upgrade sooner.

Lol I think he was just kidding around. Come September it'll be 2 years since the 12.9" was unveiled.

My honest opinion right now - the current Pros are pretty amazing iPads, still extremely powerful and nothing really matches them. I think they're going to launch the new ones when they're ready, and they're not too worried about the age of the current ones. I've been using my 9.7" for over a year now (can't believe it's been a year already).

Yeah, I think you're right. The iPad and iPad Pro on the site now really makes it look like they're going to move to Mac like naming. And then with technical documents we'll likely see "iPad Pro, Mid 2017" for example. I hope so anyway.
 
If the 14th is a launch day, the window for invites to an event has passed. The best bet for this rumor is a quiet update. Also worth nothing, the OP hasn't been back in a while.

We must keep this thread alive also I know the launch window has passed I am still hoping for invites though, for another launch whenever. If not this week I'm officially going to move my speculation to a possible WWDC reveal

Invitations are generally sent out in the morning, but last October's were apparently much later than usual.
Note: The times listed are the timestamps of the corresponding MacRumors articles, so the actual invitations would have been sent out earlier.

We may see something at 10am PST or 1am PST possibly

No its impossible as invites woulve needed to be sent out Monday, they were not indicating a later launch although they could announce something today tommrow or later in April. That might happen being Apple usually holds events closer to the end of the month.

I still have hope for something in April still can't imagine apple will keep selling a 1.5 year old iPad as the flagship when they have always had a new flagship iPad every year and they will not want to wait for the fall as it will be all about iPhone 8 and wwdc seems odd for consumer product as its for developers plus the keynote will also be busy and long with 4 operating systems to talk about

That's what I am thinking would make the most since as WWDC is now really busy with software alone, and fall should be focused on iPhone and Macs, come on Apple you have a great little window to release some new iPads

Whether or not they do an announcement, I can absolutely see Apple selling a 1.5 year old iPad as the flagship Pro line.

They're obviously working on some new design, but they're not going to rush it just to prevent the current iPad Pro from sitting for so long without a successor.

If I had to put money on it, I'd bet new iPads are coming late fall. I'd love to be wrong, but I think that's where we're heading.

But honestly, I'd love to see them really spread out the product line up. I mean, at this rate, we're getting iPhones, iPads, Watch, Macs and possibly Apple TV updates this fall.

A lot of the development is likely tied tightly together for iOS devices, but I feel like Watch would benefit from a spring release, Macs and maybe iPads at WWDC, and iPhone & Apple TV in the fall.

You guys mentioned it earlier, I had forgotten, next friday the 14th is a holiday for Easter/Good Friday in many parts of north america. Do you think they would launch products into a holiday weekend like that?
 
Since Apple seems to be listening to this forum's complaints 😉. Let's start a chant....Announce an event at 1:00 PDT today for new iPad Pro.....and that will just force their hand, even if not ready! I'm just sure of it 🙂

Holding off is easier when you're holding off the way we are doing it - one week at a time. Before long we've waited one week at a time for months and months. 🙂
