Is there a way to change the resolution on an ipad pro? I saw these in the Apple Store, and the icons looked comically big (IMO).

I used to think Apple iOS devices kept resolution so that a icon to start an app was about the size of a fingertip...

iOS always stays at the native resolution of the device (since LCDs really only have one resolution) but if offers the option of a zoomed in view with bigger icons to make it easier for some users. You can also change text sizes system-wide in Settings if your apps support it.

I have an iPad Pro 9.7 now. I really love my device, but I need a bigger screen for my drawings lately. I am really looking forward for the new 12.9 to replace mine.

Same here. I just got the 12.9 iPad Pro and my god its huge! Still getting used to it but I think its going to be great!

I'm Really happy with mine, but I'm kind of wishing I went with a Cellular Model, and not sure why. I keep looking at them and can't figure the advantage of having one. Can someone please tell me why it's an advantage to having the cellular model?

I was actually looking at the Cellular model when buying my 12.9 in March, but it was the Apple Store sales guy that talked me out of it. He said everyone just tethers to their phone. Which I have done, not that often, but I can do it no problem. Also like not having to pay for an extra plan just for data for the Ipad Pro, since I have AT&T and I have more than enough data to share with it, I don't use much. So really unsure why I would need it, except for the find my Ipad option if lost or stolen. Or to use for GPS. Still intrigues me though.

Also, Not sure what the new Ipad Pro would have that I would HAVE to have. I have yet to see the Ipad Pro 9.7 with True tone display, so not sure i'm missing anything. I don't have an Iphone so don't even know what the 3D touch is, so not missing that. Nothing really screams buy me from the rumors I've read, just curious as to why I keep looking at the Cellular model.

It's a hassle having to join Personal Hotspot and having to carry my iPhone with me all the time. They sell second hand better. My iPhone data is shared between 6 products at no extra cost other than buying a sim card for each.

It's really just the convenience of not having to tether or use a hotspot when out of the house. My iPad is cellular, but I just bought wifi models for my kids. The savings is substantial.

Like Gustave mentioned, it's really about convenience. I've been back and forth myself and recently ended up with the cellular model. But in all honesty, while I do use cellular, I could have done without and saved some $ and just tethered (especially now that with continuity your iPhone will show up under wifi when looking for networks).

Lol - I've done the reverse usually, gotten wifi for myself (knowing I always have my iPhone with me) and cellular for the kids (as it's their only device, and it makes it quite easy for accessing content while travelling and on the go).

I'm waiting until next year & the new jumbo size Pro as well. I still have an iPad 2 (the second gen version) that I barely use, and my Air is starting to get to the end of its useful life. Since Apple has all but abandoned real computers & focused more on iPhones & iPads, I figure I will get the big iPad pro & use it as a laptop replacement.

Convenience. Even with Continuity, hotspot doesn't always connect seamlessly. Sometime, the iPhone doesn't even show up on the list of networks and I'd have to dig through my bag to find my iPhone and do a hard reset. Besides, it's only $10/month to add an iPad to an existing shared data account.

I use maybe 500MB cellular data per month on my iPhone. Meanwhile, iPad usage is always minimum 8GB. The iPad is my primary device. I always carry it around with me and a lot of that use is in areas with no wifi. It comprises of around 80-90% of my personal use while the iPhone is just 5-10%. If I didn't use my iPad often, then I'd probably be fine tethering. However, given my usage, I find it well worth the $130 (device) + $120 (plan) annual premium (or around $21/month). That's assuming one upgrades their iPad yearly. The longer one keeps their iPad, then the lower the annualized device premium.

The iPad also has much better battery life compared to the iPhone so when we need to tether other wifi-only devices, we use the iPad as hotspot.

Just got a 12.9 over the weekend. As I stated elsewhere, since I consume content and don't create it and won't have to take it with me when I travel, it's perfect for me and my ipads have all but replaced my replaced my macbook, which I will save for one of my kids.

I Agree with M. Gustave, whether you are writing a Novel in pages, creating a boardroom presentation in Keynote, an indeapth spreadsheet in Numbers, a graphic intensive advert in Pixelmator, a 52 page product brochure in PDF Office, a customer statement in Invoice2go or a short movie in iMovie, iPad Pro is in my opinion a far nicer place to create content than a Mac.

I am planning to upgrade to the IPad Pro 2 12.9 . I hope it come in March!!!
