My M1 Ultra MacStudio performance numbers are close to my M4 MacBook Pro Max numbers. No need to dispose of the M1 Ultra as it does what I need it to do.

Both the Studio and the laptop have 128GB of memory and 8TB SSDs

Keeping the Studio off of MacOS26 as working on drivers for some older gear that is NOT worn out yet.

Ever notice one does not get a thank you note from Apple for buying their new gear?😳😱

A huge amount of allocation? Is it still not the norm then in the US for unlimited data?

My contract is £20 a month ($26) and I get unlimited 5G data, unlimited calls and unlimited SMS/RCS (not that they ever get used) - and this extends worldwide, recently I was on holiday in the Dominican Republic and I got unlimited data and tethering there which was handy as the free hotel wifi was capped at 7mbps whilst the cellular data was around 180mbps.
Well, Verizon (and competitors) call it ‘unlimited’ — but then the fine print reads that after X number of gigabytes, they’ll slow you to a crawl for the remainder of the billing cycle. The limit/edge depends on your plan (spend); for me it’s around 200GB, so I wouldn’t worry in even a full month how much data I’d use if I hotspotted daily, all day long. But just a year ago, it was 50GB and then slowed to a crawl, something I’d be more likely to hit if I were traveling and working using my phone as a hotspot.

I have a 13 inch iPad Pro from last year and for a quick minute I thought about trading it in for the new 11 inch. The 13 inches is too big for what I need, and I’d like to have the nano texture display. But to get that display, you have to buy it with one terabyte SSD and it comes to over $1600. Even with $700 trade-in on my current iPad, it’s just dumb. Apple has priced themselves out of any reasonable person’s ability to justify something like this.
I love the 13” size screen, I just find it so much more usable (for me).
As to the nano-texture display, I find it very appealing, but I worry that I would inadvertently damage it by mindlessly wiping the screen with a non-microfiber cloth, and then I’d be stuck with a blemish that would truly drive me insane…especially as it would be so avoidable. I know…crazy, but these are the thoughts that go through my head every single time I consider any kind of nano-texture screen!
