Maybe they should have made 16GB of RAM the base memory on the M4 iPP. Other than that, I don’t really see the need of a hardware upgrade, as the M4 chip is really a beast, as the M4 Mac lineup has shown.

If they keep launching new iPad Pros every year, whenever they decide to release a more desktop oriented iPadOS, it won’t be compatible with the M1 & M2 iPP, and that will piss many of us off, because those iPad Pro are really capable machines.
Why won't the M1 and M2 iPad Pros be compatible? Are you saying because they don't have 16GB of RAM (because they do if you got a 1TB or 2TB model)?

It becomes a mess when you try to charge the device at the same time (which normally happens at the end of the day when the battery is about to die and I want to watch or listen to something on my iPad). You need another dongle. Why make things so complicated. Just add back a 3.5 mm audio port. Plenty of space available.

Removing the audio jack on iPads, where space really honestly is not an issue, was always a strange one to me

Of course, mine is a 1TB model and has 16GB of RAM. But Apple has never released an operating system or cut features on a device depending on its storage, and never will. And because 8GB of RAM is still the base RAM on the M1, M2 and M4 iPad Pro, it will hinder the adoption of a more capable or even radical redesign of iPadOS.

So, yes, 8GB being the base RAM is detrimental for the future of this M1, M2 and M4 iPad Pro from my point of view. Even if this happens in several years.

Apple has never had a shortage of space for an audio jack on the iPhone
They just wanted you to buy AirPods (and I'm cautiously assuming you have one)

If they bring back the ultra-wide angle camera lens to the 11" pro (like on the M2), then I will probably upgrade. Would even consider getting the 13" if that has it. Till then I keep my M2
