Why is this 'news'? We know Apple will be releasing the new iPad on Friday, they said so. So why are we surprised that units start turning up a couple of days before the release date so Apple can fulfil it's promise? Apple believe or not don't have a bunch of Elves that magically deliver everything globally at the same time.
Sorry, I just think this is a completely lame story. How about some proper rumours like what's happening with the Mac product line, or report on the dwindling number of 'pro' products coming from Apple - i.e. you have lots of Apple desktops in your organisation, what is Apple's offering for the bit in the middle? Servers and so on?
Prediction for iPad 4
1. Quad Core CPU with Quad Core Graphics.
2. FaceTime Camera. Improved 8 Megapixel of the back camera.
3. No 16GB version. Starting with 32GB version.
4. Add flash besides the back camera.
5. Add Siri......
Throw an "iPad4" on the hubble telescope and we're good to go!
The Hubble's camera is only 16 megapixels. Hah. And that's a relatively recent upgrade. Before that, it was less than 1 MP.

iPad 3 is the same benchmark as iPad 2. So, just wait for iPad 4. It is not worth to upgrade.
Actually, upgrade means buy a new one...

Okay, mine is still in Hong Kong (has been since the 10th) but says it is on time and will be delivered on the 16th (Portland, Oregon). I have talked to others who say theirs is in Kentucky. Is it possible to get from Hong Kong to Portland in two days considering there will be other stops? I called Apple and they said it should get here on time. I will be surprised if it does.
fedex says mine are in ontario, ca

this is silly but i always like to look and see join dates. i'm usually the oldest member on these posts, other than macrumors bot.
how can anyone look at the new iPad and think this is not a major upgrade?? the first guy thinks this is a waste of a buy because it's the same speed CPU. but it quadrupled the pixels on the screen. gave it a quad core gpu, doubled the ram. went from a 1mp camera to a 5mp camera with pumped up optics.
in all reality, with the apps on the iPad did the cpu even need to be bumped up?? it's not like your rendering 1080p 3d animation on it!!
I honestly can't believe that people are calling this an incremental upgrade. Sure most of the specs and performance are going to be the similar, but this screen is going to be unbelievable. Just like when you see a newer retina iPhone display next to a non-retina one, you can't imagine why you ever thought the original even looked half-way decent. This retina display is exactly why I know I am finally done waiting to purchase my first iPad. It will be several years before any apps or updates come out that will make this thing feel slow or outdated.
