According to this article, the rumor is an A17 Pro like the mini 7.Is there any chance the iPad 11 is going to have a full Apple intelligence capable CPU? A18?
I was thinking the same when buying M2 Air in October. I would wait if I knew about new yearly schedule.air?? didn't they just update that last year? or are they moving air's up to yearly lifecycles? pretty sure they were on 2 year cycles.
Is this a serious rant or a joke?Last year my iPad Air (3rd Generation) stopped charging because the charging port failed. I contacted repair shops and they mostly all told me that I ought to buy a replacement iPad since it wasn't worth the cost to fix it. They quoted $200-300.
So I bought a new iPad Pro 11" (4th Generation) with the M2 chip. Gosh, I loved that device. It was light, fast and powerful with the great cameras and 1 TB storage, etc.
Then I realized that it had a problem: the ever present bright white home bar line at the bottom of the screen. It really annoyed me at night, that bright line shining just below my field of vision. I searched but Apple provides no way to turn it off.
My iPad Air 3rd generation has a home button so there is no bright white home bar displayed on the screen.
Exasperated, I returned the iPad Pro, stating that I didn't like it.
I found a great repair shop that replaced the charging port on my 3rd gen iPad Air for $99 and it works like new!
It's a real shame because I wanted the new iPad. Recently Best Buy had the M2 iPad Pros (2 TB) on sale for $1,099. I wanted to buy one, but alas I know that I would be unhappy with it.
If Apple ever removes the home bar I would be thrilled to buy an M4 iPad Pro with the OLED screen.
I have attempted to persuade Apple to either remove the home bar or at least give us a setting to hide it, all to no avail.
Sigh...
It’s bizarre that after so many years we still have the bar. Like who doesn’t know to swipe up??Last year my iPad Air (3rd Generation) stopped charging because the charging port failed. I didn’t know until I got my first iPad without a home button… last autumn. 😬It’s bizarre that after so many years we still have the bar. Like who doesn’t know to swipe up??
Yeah, just like on doors that have pull or push label. The door could have been there for years but it still has that label. It’s bizarre that after so many years we still have the bar. Like who doesn’t know to swipe up??
Tim ponders a few moments, then slides one of his beans in the bean counter machineI just hope they don't bump it back up to $449 and let it start at the 10's current $349 or at most $399 +- $10.
It's a silly way to make a dig at you and you ego. What does this mean (i don't get it)?
Inclined to agree with you.I don’t expect much from Apple anymore in the way of exciting. It’s all iterative improvements with software that isn’t ready for another 3/4 of a year to a year and is often broken at that. Not the same company I’ve grown to love and find our household is less and less enthusiastic behind things the release. Tim Cook isn’t the product guy the company needs and has cheapened the brand in our opinion.
…and a greed detox.Inclined to agree with you.
Most of the ‘new products’ we get these days are Frankenstein productions made from whatever parts are surplus in the supply chain. Just take the illogical 16-E for example.
Apple does sorely need a more ‘product oriented’ CEO.
Nah, Apple can't make those smaller Mac's anymore. My M2 Air is serving me just fine. No real reason to upgrade for a few years at least.
The only temptation for me would be to go back down in size, as I do kind of regret getting the 13” instead of the 11”.
For now though, I don’t regret it enough to spend money to make the change. It would take something with an overwhelming “wow” factor to get me to change my mind and open my wallet, but I just don’t see that happening.
I agree with that. While Ive did not always got things right, his vision was unparalleled and always drove Apple further in terms of innovation and industrial design. Now, without Ive (and, automatically, Jobs' vision) Apple's design is not bad but a bit bland and repetitive. I'd welcome Ive back.Nah, Apple can't make those smaller Mac's anymore.
I'm ok with my M3 - but that is all. It's for sure a good Mac. But absolutely nothing wow about it.
The design have declined after Joni (and his team) left.
Unfortunately it will probably continuing down that road. Hope next CEO can bring back some help of those guys who actually could design Mac's.
