Everyone keeps saying that like its a big deal. The entire time I had my iphone, I never needed to talk and get on the internet at the same time.

Like I said, because youchoose not to take advantage of this great feature, others (millions) do, it will be a huge disadvantage...

I use the voice/data at the same time only once and a while, but it's really handy.

I was trying to map something and put my friend on hold while I checked for new email he just sent (for the name of the place) and then put it into Google Maps.

Otherwise, I would have had to hang up, look for it, then call him back.

It's not a huge deal, but it's a nice thing to have.

Actually, it's a huge, crushing deal breaker for me. I use voice and data on the iphone simultaneously all the time.

Example - on phone with wife, need to look up directions for her in Safari or Google

Example - on conference call for work, asked question and need to email co-worker for immediate response.

Example - well, you get it. There's a ton more.

My guess is…

…that the antenna assignments have been repurposed too and the 'killer gap' is now one of the ones at the very top which avoids being bridged by virtually any common holding method.

One in the bottom left is probably the 'WiFi/Bluetooth' gap or some such...
