It's bin hard to stay away from the iPhone 4 with all the new features and sleek look but i am the kind of person that can wait for the next phone if it is worth it. But i have done some research on the iPhone 5 and i don't see credible rumor sites with any info other than picture parts but i did see a site that listed some hard and soft add ons that sound very god so i wish to see other peoples opinion on these claims and see if all can make some sense to this. Maybe this is plausible maybe not

hear are some of the claims that this website had in there article

* Thinner! With shiny glass back piece - 9.3 mm thick.

* Face Recognition Security

* Face Time (Video Chat) access on 3G AND 4G (available currently but only on 3G)

* Custom SMS tones

* Custom E-mail alerts with ability to assign different tones to each email address

* A new, sleeker body design.

* OLED screen.

* Scratch proof and shatter proof screen

* Wireless sync with iTunes

* 32G (basic) and 64G of memory. You're sure to never run out.

* Extended battery life = 14 hours talk time on 3G and 7 hours on 4G. Standby 600 hours.

* Hi Definition audio.

* Messaging indicator light.

* True GPS built in.

in the article it also talks about info that macrumors has already rote about regarding Verizon and the iPhone and ATT and there upcoming 4G network and also mentions that the iPhones 5 will carry a dual core processor but doesn't mention anything further.

wow it will be thinner than the current 9.3mm thick iPhone 4, at an impressive 9.3mm?

thats crazy! they will slim it down that much! i'm astonished!

surely if you have been staying away from the iPhone 4, holding out for the 5th Generation, when that comes out you might as well wait for the 6th Generation...

this is just some article written by a random person speculating over what he would like to see.

* Face Recognition Security
* Face Time (Video Chat) access on 3G AND 4G (available currently but only on 3G) Not available right now at all on 3G
* Custom SMS tones Seems likely, but this is more of an OS update and not Hardware
* Custom E-mail alerts with ability to assign different tones to each email address This would Be Nice
* A new, sleeker body design. Not likely in 2011, maybe 2012
* OLED screen.
* Scratch proof and shatter proof screen
* Wireless sync with iTunes
* 32G (basic) and 64G of memory. You're sure to never run out. Run out of what exactly?
* Extended battery life = 14 hours talk time on 3G and 7 hours on 4G. Standby 600 hours.
* Hi Definition audio.

* True GPS built in. Whats wrong with the current GPS, it gets me from Point A to Point B just fine.

So you (or the article) claims that the glass will be thinner, yet somehow shatter proof? good luck with that.

has their ever been a credible rumor? if so, shouldn't the Verizon iPhone have been released 3 years ago?

Rumors are just that, rumors.

first of all, no this is not me this was a article i found in the website and second yes there are such a thing as a credible rumor, you may puzzle you're self wen you read this but bear with me for the reason i say credible rumor is wen the rumor comes from a credible source, a source that in rare occasion always hits on the spot wen it comes to rumors that is the reason why websites like macrumors are very selective wen it comes to adding articles to there site not that there will never be a false rumor cause yes rumors are rumors butt there are ways to identify wether a rumor could be plausible or not by following patterns and reading in to the logic the rumor states

this post was about reading in to what the website claims the iPhone 5 will be
and maybe enlighten if ho ever feels like posting has some more believable info on the phone.

the article has no sources, let alone credible ones...

so basically the iPhone 5 is going to be like wen the 3gs came out just a better version of the iPhone 4 and the website in question just over exaggerated the specs to what the writer wishes to see the iPhone in july 2011

Really, the only thing from your list that interests me at all is the larger capacity.

Everything else is passable in my book.

Just so I can say I was right:

There will be no hardware upgrade for iPhone 4 in 2011. There will be a sizeable iOS update with a new notification system. There will be a white iPhone 4 variant (actually available). Possibly other colors. There will be a CDMA variant. It will NOT be available for Verizon at launch.

absolutely not one hardware upgrade? Like to bet on it?

^ I've been stupid busy with school unfortunately. Mostly just browsing the forums these days. How are you doing?

not as fun but ok. there has never not been at least a few hardware upgrades so I think I like my side quite a bit.

If there is a hardware upgrade it will be 3GS-esque, but I can't think of any practical upgrade that is worthwhile. Marginally bigger battery? Meh. I think the only hardware upgrade will be CDMA counterpart.

But I don't think the iPhone will go to Verizon. It'll most likely go to Sprint (not that I care either way as I live in Canada).

I think Apple will keep churning out iPhone 4s (white and black, maybe colored) and provide us with a substantial iOS update (probably with a new notification system - considering the hiring of the former Palm notification engineers).

I don't know why, but this post made me laugh. :)

Unlike Bill Gates:

I've said some stupid things and some wrong things, but not that. No one involved in computers would ever say that a certain amount of memory is enough for all time … I keep bumping into that silly quotation attributed to me that says 640K of memory is enough. There's never a citation; the quotation just floats like a rumor, repeated again and again.

You actually said that?? :eek:
