Did this-- Its says its already activated and is ready to go. My problem is same as " Grapho" above.

Sim card is activated - my old sim card is deactivated. If I put the iphone 6 sim in my iPhone 5 s it could mess up getting activated by Apple I was told.

I just switched my sim card back. Just in case. I called Apple today. Spoke to new tech, still no resolution. Waiting on elusive engineers to address issue. At this point I think it's a lot of folks that are in the same boat. This will take some time to fix from Apple.

I'm glad I'm not the only one waiting with this problem. I do have a Genius Bar appt for 11:30 am. I can always cancel

New iphone 6 plus not working

:( Im glad to not be the only one with this problem, have been on the phone with ATT and APPLE for so HOURS before I got to talk to a supervisor at apple. They said they would call me back when they found a solution and I am still STUCK with no phone.

Similar problems with Verizon. Turned on and entered billing zip and last 4 of social. Error message says incorrect info. Now iphone 6 plus is locked up. In the 23rd hour waiting for apple tech response. VZ store couldn't resolve.

You can power the phone off and restart it to get rid of the 'lock'. Not that it will do any good... but I guess you can keep trying to enter your info.

Been powering off repeatedly, and as you speculate to no avail. Lost track of how many times I've entered my zip and social. Tried wifi, iTunes, cellular no luck. I'm convinced Apple verification of VZ data is the problem.

This is the first I've heard of any other carrier aside from AT&T having this issue... but this would back the theory that it is Apples fault (along with their STI activation issues).

Sorry to hear others had issues but now I know its not just my iPhone .. It has to be Apple's Activation problem and not the carrier - either ATT or Verizon.

If you order an AT&T or Verizon-based iPhone from the Apple store as an upgrade, do not switch your SIM card. You won't be able to activate / use the new phone (without a lot of hassles) if you switch your SIM card.

According to Apple, most activation problems for AT&T and Verizon upgrades are the direct result of people swapping SIM cards between phones.

When I couldn't activate my iphone 6 plus yesterday after I received it , I called apple support. Apple support had me try various things and one of them was switch the sim cards. Needless to say nothing worked. I then exchanged them back.

When I tried ATT's activation phone number as someone suggested here, it disabled my older 5s sim card and I now have no cell service.

I have direct contact to one of Apple's iOS Senior Advisor. He has admitted that this indeed is on Apple. He also told me that swapping sim cards at this point will not affect the work of the engineers. You will need to swap them back once you are informed that your iPhone can be activated.

My take on all this is that records on Apple's database server got swapped while scanning them in. Now they have people attempting to untangle the mess. It must be a bunch of us or this would already be solved by now. I think that the issue will ultimately be fixed, but how long it will take is anybody's guess.

He also told me that the engineers work regular schedules, so my case did not get to them until Saturday morning. So if it doesn't get fixed today, it would be 58 hours. Not reasonable to fix an activation problem.

Good news that you got your case in Saturday morning. I got my case sent up from a senior advisor to engineering last night around 10:30pm, so I have been doing my part to make sure it gets as high as possible. My senior advisor told me it may be until Monday before the engineers could look at it.

Problem Solved. My daughter ordered the phone for me. The solution was HER zip and the last four of my social. The correct info on my VZ account is my ZIP and social, but since she ordered it Apple was using her ZIP to verify.

Has anybody gotten this resolved?

I am just wondering if anybody has gotten this solved by Apple remotely with out having to go to the Apple store and fight to get the phone swapped.
I am being informed that engineers from the back end are already altered to my case, and according to the iOS senior advisor, that I am set in a list to get my info sorted so that I can get this thing activated. My problem with this is that I have yet to hear from somebody that has gotten this fixed in this way without swapping the phone. I have been dealing with this since Friday.

I called Apple 8:30 am Friday morning when I could not activate it. I have 3 case numbers ( I was passed to 4 different people) my last case number was escalated at 12:30 pm Friday - at least I was told by the i"OS Support Senior Specialist " assigned to my case.

My phone is still not working. I have a Genius Bar appt at 11:30 today and I am hoping for a swap out of my iPhone 6 plus.

I showed up at the Apple Store with no appointment. I cordially asked to speak with the manager and my activation issue was resolved by a sales executive who was very accommodating and even embarrassed that I had to deal with this for the better part of three days.

I got my iPhone 6 activated and working.

I made an appointment @ Apple and they swapped out the phone within a minute of me explaining the situation.. surprisingly, three Genius Bar reps hadn't heard about this issue (company line ;-)

I cant think of any other company that treats their customers so amazingly well....

I had similar problems activating my 6+ (upgrading from previous iphone with same phone number).
The activation on the phone setup did not work.
Using ATTs website did not work.
I "chatted" with an ATT rep on their website and they got it activated.

Otherwise, you might try 800-331-0500
