New iPhone 6S...setup as new, or restore from back-up?

I restored from backup. Went from 5s to 6s... No issues. I didn't have to download or set anything up again, it was all there like it was on the 5s

Same here. I did however clear out all apps I was no longer using on my 5S prior to backing it up.

Yeah, same here, kinda. I usually try to keep the phone clean of unnecessary apps. Just try to keep my essentials, so I'm constantly deleting and updating
