i'm completely satisfied with my iphone 3g, and i'm sure i'll be just as satisfied with next years model when my contract expires.
Therefore you and Roessnakhan who said "Because people are always unsatisfied.", which you agree with, are wrong.

I'm satisfied with my current iPhone too. It's great. And not everyone is or will be unsatisfied. But you can't deny that there are some people out there who always complain because they build up their hopes for what Apple can push the envelope with. Then Apple releases something that isn't up to their expectations and they flame.

I was stating my opinion on the subject since that's what this forum is for, I never said it bothered me.

"And then next year, when you are waiting for the new iPhone like you are now and some rumor comes out of a quad-core iPhone and some crazy specs, are you going to keep waiting?"

that part there is a question, not an opinion. my question to you asking why it bothered you was because you asked someone this question, it must bother you in one way or another for you to ask them the question.

i completely agree with you.

i will say that i have a big problem with people on here that are saying that "people are always unsatisfied" etc. as a person that implies that i am always unsatisfied which is untrue.

i've seen an american that pointed at australia on a map when asked where they think north korea is.....i wonder if americans would be happy if i claimed that all americans were dumb just because i've seen one dumb one.

That's true. I should have just said some people. And that Korea/Australia thing is funny even though it's an analogy.

Don't care. The 3GS beats the hell out of my current 3-year old dumb-phone (opposite of smart phone?). I'll be happy to pick up a quad-core iPhone in two years and have a 3GS between now and then.

Although it's pretty damn cool to see these miniature devices get more and more powerful...

People aren't going to be satisfied next year either. Oh, "Apple forgot to include a front-facing camera that we were SUPPOSE to have gotten last year." No one ever said Apple would include a front-facing camera in the 2009 iPhone. I'm just waiting next year for that statement to be said.

BOOM! Exactly why the 3GS is a minor bump. Next year DUAL CORE iPhone. You though the 3GS was twice as good, how about double the processors with extended battery life due to the 45nm chips! Tack that along with 512mb ram, and an even better graphics chip and the 4G iPhone will rock the 3GS. Exactly why the 3GS is such a minimal upgrade.

With the extended battery life and significant processing power boost, I expect to see background apps and multitasking in the new phone. An OLED screen with improved resolution will probably also happen.:D

Can't wait for Steve to take the stage next year with this beast.

it's not just you, yours may have just been a slip of the tongue (so to speak), i've just had enough of the people on here that assume that all 3g owners are moaning about at&t/o2 because we can't upgrade on the cheap......i haven't had a single thought about upgrading my contract because it's just that - a legally binding contract and i don't believe for one minute that i deserve to be let out of it. if i upgrade i'll buy a 3gs outright.

at least you realise that it's not everybody that thinks they are being hard done by and i agree that there are some here that are complete whiners and moaners. i just don't want to be seen as one of them. i'm completely happy with my 3g as things stand right now.

So will people who got the 3GS this June expect to get this new iPhone at the subsidized price next June?

Yes, 'cause for reason some peple have a perverce sense of entitlment.

I signed a two year contract, so I don't deserve to get out of it.

All the more reason to wait for iPhone ver. 4

I don't need a compass and I bet voice control only works for American accents.

you're probably right there.....if you were searching for fast food and said fush and chups it probably wouldn't recognise it :D

sorry, i moved from australia 15 years ago so haven't had much chance to kiwi bash for a while. just kidding :p

I posted the link for people who are on the edge about buying the 3G S.

Many people got a 3G on or shortly after launch day and are currently mid-contract. For those people, they may read this and it may sway them towards holding off for iPhone v4 @ WWDC 2010 when they are up for upgrade/full-subsidization.

you don't need to explain your reasons for posting.

there are some posters whose mothers probably let them have their first sip of coffee today and they're the ones that mocked you. too much caffeine has that effect on some children.

I have a couple of musings on possible iPhone updates. A reaction to all the chat about there being another iPhone sooner than we think.

Thinking about how Apple likes to release an ipod and then show it to us in multicolor options a few months later.
Knowing the showman that Mr Jobs is, I wouldn't be surprised if his return hailed in the news of iPhoneNanoChrome color options.

I mean upgrading the hardware and keeping the case the same for a few months isn't gonna hurt business. And the new casing options might end up pulling a lot of those people who just didn't quite decide to upgrade their old 3G yet.

Just a thought, sorry to stir up hype and rumor, personally I'm happy with the upgrade and will be getting the 3GS.

Well, by holding off you get all the stuff that's new to the 3G S and what'll be next next year. I think people are forgetting this.

Plus, who really wants to spend $700 a year on a cellphone?

You could say this same thing every single year.

Don't count on it!

If that does happened, I bet we won't see a 199/299 pricing.

Of course they're working on a new iPhone, I bet the iPhone 3GS was finalized earlier this year. If they plan on bringing a new model out each year they need to start working on it early.
