Phone will be announced on june 8th at WWDC.
the various apple stores will be closing at some point in time between the announcement on june 8th and the release of the phone (probably july 17)..likely in order to remodel and place advertisements in-store for the upcoming phone.
although....my local area apple store doesnt have any renovation planned (listed on the internet at least)

Off topic, but when they build a new or renovate an Apple store, so they use the silverish front or the black one? The store I go to has a black front and it looks better than the silver ones.
They don't remodel the outside as far as I can tell. Woodfield still is black.
