Its the iPhone M, in which M stands for Magic.....

Now, in all seriousness, the iPhone suffers from yearly updates in June 07. So, obviously, Apple has to offer a newer model considering if they don't, they will fall behind in comparison with competition.

Also, can we stop with these kinda of threads. That search button is a great feature begging to be used.

What's this "search button" you speak of? :)

Ill just sell the 3GS unlocked for around 400 in June and get the new one for around the same price as new contract. I will have to upgrade every year it will bug the heck out of me if i dont.

I don't know what planet some of you are on when you speculate these new iPhone features lol

The only things you can really hope for are front facing camera, 64GB version, HD resolution and thats probably about it

LOL @ dual core processor

wow

we need a thread on if we will have a new phone 5 weeks after the 3G S was released. Are you kidding me! do you think anybody knows for sure maybe Apple will release the Jphone maybe apple will say we have done it all who the heck knowsif you ask me to bet I bet next June perhaps at taking a total stab at this maybe perhaps WWDC 2010! I Will even guess June 8th maybe the 9th but that's a total guess based on the fact the the WWDC will be June 8 to June 12. 2010 but I heard a rumor instead of releasing 3.1 they are just going to give everybody brand new phones!

I was wondering if there would be a new iPhone released around Christmas/New Year or even next summer.
What would you expect to have in it?
A new model or Iphone Nano?

No .......... that's the MacPad/MacTablet that'll be coming out.

:p

I remember when I had dreams..... then corporate America crushed it.

there is a slim to none chance that verizon will get the iphone, or sprint.
they are both cdma networks.
and besides verizon has said time and time again that they do not want the iphone. and apple wouldnt give them cause verizon would cripple the iphone with its vcast garbage.

To both of you, that's why I said "possible". I just wrote a list of things that have been talked about for future iPhones around the interwebz.:D

I almost think that Apple should change to an 18 month cycle. It would match the upgrade cycle at ATT a little better. Early adopters wouldn't have to complain that they don't get a subsidized phone annually, and normal users who plan to wait until they are eligible for a subsidized upgrade don't have to settle for the "old" model as long after the new phone comes out :)

I bet it would still have the same design maybe a little thinner and new colors

+1
I think core the internals will stay the same (processor, memory, radios) but a cosmetic change (colors) and perhaps a front facing camera, improved screen resolution, 80211 N, improved Bluetooth, micro usb universal charging, perhaps even improved battery for Palm Pre like Multi-tasking...things like that...
I think the big changes (processor, memory, 4G chip, OLED) come in 2011...

Yup, most likely a new iPhone in June of '10. Some possible additions:

1. OLED Screen
2. 64GB HDD
3. Front Facing Camera
4. Dual Core Processor
5. Improved Battery Life (actually improved, not 3GS "improved")
6. Verizon/Sprint/T-Mobile iPhone
7. HD Resolutions
8. Multitasking/Background Apps

I'd expect the next upgrade to be a more feature rich than the past update. But I wouldn't put it past Apple to upgrade the processor to improve battery life and add a significant power boost.

I would dearly love to see all those changes, complete with maybe a matte or rubber backing and an even better back camera, but I think that only half of those will happen, given that we speculated the same things for the 3GS and got carried away somewhat.

1. OLED Screen - okay
2. 64GB HDD - yep, would like this.
3. Front Facing Camera - could actually make people use video calls :)
4. Dual Core Processor - yeah.
5. Improved Battery Life (actually improved, not 3GS "improved") - yep.
6. Verizon/Sprint/T-Mobile iPhone - competition is good for pricing :)
7. HD Resolutions - WHY? on a screen that small it would not be noticable.
8. Multitasking/Background Apps - yep.
agreed.

What about 4G?

Pinnacle of the apple fanboy. "If I don't upgrade the latest greatest iPhone, it'll bother me sooo badly. :apple:!"

An improvement on battery life and multitasking are a must for me.

isn't this exactly what we were saying about june 2009?

personally i think the biggest change will be the 4.0 software, and i think it will be a UI refresh and background apps (background apps exclusive to the new iphone) that are the main features.

Allowing the user to have an area on the 'phone to store and edit files would be sweet. However, I guess the iDisk is Apple's idea of this...

Almost no network has 4G deployed except sprint and they suck
. The rest will start their networks late 2010.

Rogers in Canada say they will have it up and running for Vancouver for the 2010 Winter Olympics. That's Feb/Mar 2010. But then rolls out later in the year elsewhere.

Not that I doubt what you are saying :)
