Many of my friends and family all hated the notch and Face ID of the newer models and have welcomed this new edition to the Apple Family.

Its a rumor site and the ongoing Pandemic does affect everyone and everything including apple which ultimately affects everyone posting on this forum. I'm sure there is a site you can post on like livingunderarock.com or denial.com
Really? There's a pandemic? Why hasn't this been mentioned in the media?

Or... everyone - everyone - knows there's a pandemic going on, and we'd like to discuss other things, like the topic assigned to this article, and don't need people running in and telling us there's a pandemic going on - because we know there's a pandemic. It's not that the pandemic can't be mentioned, but coming into the thread just to say, "We have other things to worry about", doesn't contribute to the conversation. At all. But you can feel free to go post on livingunderarock.com or denial.com if you want. I'm sure it's nice over there.

Was watching the news showing the mile long line and was surprised to see late model BMW's and Mercedes waiting in line.

Depending where you live the food supply may be constrained. Each time we get food and supplies via insta cart less and less of our order can be filled even though we will take any substitutions. My husband is still employed and even on a pay cut I suppose we can buy a new iPhone if we need one. But we can't get paper products, cleaning supplies that have disinfectant, and food options have dwindled quite a lot in two weeks.

I wonder if Apple can release an edible phone made of apples. 😆

I am enticed by the 5.4” as well. My concern is a price tag of $800. I could very well end up with the 5.4 later this year. For the time being, I will (hopefully) enjoy my new SE.
My guess is the 5.4 inch will slide into the $699 slot and the 6.1 inch will be $799 ($100 more than this year’s 6.1 inch iPhone).

Guess what? I'm fully aware of the coronavirus. I think that was clear in my post if you actually read it. This site is called MacRumors with an emphasis on.....you guessed it....Apple products! It's not called CornoravirusRumors.com. welcome to my ignore list.

I've had it with dumb and snarky posts, which are taking over this site. My ignore list is going to be growing faster than I thought.

I ordered 2. Black and White

Two family members will be giving them a spin, if they like them for their uses, will sell their old phones.

Don't think so. Australia shipment date still on 24th and the two biggest telcos haven't even listed SE for sell. This is the first time the telcos aren't doing any new iPhone pre-orders.

The country with world's largest smartphone market shows a delivery date of April 24 for most configurations. This is definitely not a high demand product. There is a high demand for air freight however.

UPS has not reduced freight capacity. In fact, UPS has plenty of spare capacity.

Maybe next time do some basic research instead of speculating.

There is a huge market of people who can't afford or justify $1,000+ phones.
Or even want.

good way to get iPhones into the hands of people in a different market. Going to be a knockout winner.

this thing looks like an iPod touch

Cancelled my first minute order after careful consideration. It’s not like I need this phone since I already have the 11 Pro. I bought it out of curiosity and wanted it to be a backup phone, but this role is already served by my old iPhone X. A great phone with great spec and good value, and I’m sure it will appeal to many people who didn’t upgrade in the last several cycles. But just it adds no more value to me. The current economic situation seems to have played a role here too, I’m not lacking money, but I just don’t want to spend on ”useless” stuff now.

Note: we don’t have the “privilege” of returning stuff here due to the (lack of) consumer rights.

I'm having a hard time figuring out why someone would want this phone. It's less expensive, sure, but it's also smaller, etc... *shrug*
Initially, it was the size that made me hesitate - not because it’s smaller, but because it’s bigger than my current iPhone SE. I run a lot, and smaller is better for that.

Rather than being “less expensive” and “smaller”, the new SE is both “more expensive” and “bigger” than I’d like but, in the end, I ordered one because I know it’s going to be the only iPhone that’s ever likely to be affordable to me.

It’s either this iPhone, or no iPhone. That’s my reason to buy.

GUYS have any of you gained access to your tracking info yet? If so, can you tell me what the container weight is for your iPhone because I believe I already have my tracking numbers because I used the track by reference feature on UPS and it spit out those two container’s tracking numbers when I used the keyword “iPhone” but I also did the trade in so it could be that they ship the trade in kit separately. If you guys are also trading in a device and have access to the tracking info for both, would you mind posting the container weights so that if they match up with what I’m seeing on my UPS, then I’ll know it’s the phone and trade in kit for sure!

I ordered one. I’m actually worried I’m going to find it too big. But ok…

That’s me......it’s just a phone to talk and text.
Same. 99% of my phone usage is talk and text. That’s it. I barely ever even take photos. Once in a blue moon (very very rarely) I might scroll twitter for a few minutes if I’m stuck in a lineup or something. That’s it. That’s all. I just want a phone that makes phone calls and doesn‘t cost $1500 CAD and weigh as much as a brick.

Why do people care if it’s high demand or not? Why do some people seem so anxious to declare it a failure? Or not a failure? Who cares. There is a market for it otherwise Apple would not have made it. Who cares how big or small that market is?

People care about it is a good thing for the society and Apple will be losing a lot of sales if does not get it right for the product.

I got the 128gb Walmart iPhone se2 $249 deal. Will keep it around as a spare. I don’t need it. Used the job iPhone 11 Pro Max for 6 months and its heavy phone. Gave it to my wife. Got a replacement “new” iPhone XS Max from Apple store literally before retail stores were closed last month when my wife broke the front and back of the xs max.

phones are getting too heavy these days. Sure the pro Max has incredible battery life but it’s heavy. The xs max feels light. Now the iPhone se2 will feel even lighter.

I will also trade in iPhone 8 Plus that’s sitting around (battery down to 82%) for $250 Apple gift card. So it’s like me getting a free iPhone swap with updated specs.
