iLounge posted a photo of one of the advertisements for the new iPod which will supposedly be introduced today at Apple's "One more thing" event.

The new posters show a new iPod model with a "larger display, approximately 2.5 to 2.6 inches diagonal". The headphone jack is also now off center.

Photo can be seen at iLounge. Mirrored here: New iPod Ad.

FAKE!!

Edit: The ad .... NOT the administrator! ;)

I hope that's not the real video iPod!

The screen is way too small to see any decent video.. I was hoping they'd put it horizontally so it could take a lot more space. I'd be interested in getting a video player to watch movies on long bus trips but this tiny display is no good :(

I hope it's a fake!

I hope this isn't true. The screen would not be large enough. People will laugh considering the screen on the PSP. It doesn't need to be that big, but it should certainly be bigger.

looks very fake. if they add video they need to do it right with a reasonably big screen, unless that large unoccupied bottom half is full of wi-fi goodness.

It's just an advertisement.clearly not meant to reflect every control on it.
Yeah... I was just kidding. Either that, or Apple has mastered mind control of devices. ;)

From the iLounge website:

"iLounge has snapped exclusive photos of advertisements for the new iPod, which will be introduced today at Apple’s “One more thing” event in San Jose, California. The familiar silhouette posters clearly show an all-new iPod model with a noticeably larger display, approximately 2.5 to 2.6 inches diagonal, compared to the current full-size iPod’s 2-inch screen. Also of note, the headphone jack has been moved from the top-center to the top-right side of the device."

I seriously doubt iLounge would fake this.

First generation will not be designed to watch full-length feature films. Early pocket TVs had 1.7-2" BW screens and people watched them. People use the iPod Nano to view photos. Video clips, music videos, home video clips would work perfectly on that for someone wanting to show these things to friends and family. JMO

Well I'm still waiting until the expo is over (obviously) but I already like what I see. I'm hoping the prices stay the same while the capacity jumps to 40/80 GB. I'd love to see it thinner too.

Well, I'm glad to say the proportions of the iPod finally look about perfect (I always thought that the bezel around the screen was too large, making the iPod look "fat")

"iPod eats a lot of music" --New slogan.

Agreed - that thign is UGLY (thoguh I'll still buy one  ). The "iPod" looks practically square...ewww...it looks (dare I say it) bigger than it is at the moment :s

Yeah if thats it, i mean...ouch. That would be cool if I were to watch say a music video or something on it. But hey! This is all 5-second glimps judgment based off a poster that is just rumored to be something!

My eyes will be on the powerbook/macs tho.... :D
