In that last picture, it looks like the headphones are coming out of the right side, not in the middle.

Ah, if those ads are real, how come none of the subjects are WATCHING the iPod? They all seem to be DANCING to the music.

Thicker iPod Video because the iPod Video accepts UMDs? Maybe?

God I hope not. Actually I hope this announcement has nothing to do with iPod even though I think its probably a 99.99999% certainty.

I'd love to see a side by side comparison of the old ads. I have a feeling we're all looking through vPod coloured glasses at the moment and an unbiased view would show that on other ads the dimensions are always different and the headphone jack may also be different. No doubt they're actual ad posters, but would Apple really show that much detail on public display before the 'and one more thing' comment

If it's a true resemblance, I don't like the form factor, it will have to come down to feature performance for me.

Very good point! Are you a detective or something?

;)

I'm an illustrator/greaphic artist so I have good eyes fro detail. Notice the other infamous photo, she has her hand covering the screen of the 'new video iPod'? Huh? Why would you cover the screen of a new video iPod?

It LOOKS legit, but I have a hard time believing that Apple would make an iPod with a bigger screen, and keep it so the screen covers such a small portion of the device.

Buy stock now while it's still low.

Only selling 6.5 million iPods last quarter (year?) has Apple stock down steeply today. Looks like there is a video component coming -- buy now.

After the edit: and seeing all the pictures at the iPod mirror site.
I now think the ads are real......

Come on 80 gig.

The ads seem to be real, but none are watching or looking at the screens of the iPod and one girl covers the screen with her thumb. So, they don't suggest video iPods at all.

UMD's cost way too much than what they are worth and there are so few movies out for it.

I listen to podcasts for about 1.5 hours a day on my bus ride to and from work (total, not each way)... and I would like a video ipod... I could watch twit, democracy now... and I am sure other video podcasts would explode... I already listen to face the nation and meet the press, easy for them to add a video version... and since they would be able to scale the video down to ipod video dimensions, use a nice codec, the size would not be too insane... still big, but who cares... (if you have broadband).

If the iPod video will be looking like that, Ill pass. I thought it would be something more like the photo we saw last week where the iPod got longer. The way they did it just makes it look bulkier

because they will not be selling it at as a video ipod, just an updated ipod that will replace the top end ones right now.. just one of the new features are video.

I've been absolutely stunned by the sheer weight of rumoring/reporting that's gone on from everyone about video iPods. It's like... an obsession. *shrug* Weird.

With how secretive Apple usually is even up to the last few minutes before a keynote with its black curtains, I highly doubt if there is a so called 'one more thing' here today that this is it. I doubt that Steve would one-up himself with posters out on the street.
