New iPod Ad Revealed?

I don't care about the size of the screen of the video iPod as long as I can plug it to a tv or monitor and watch movies on it.

New PB's would be very cool and I would like to get a new one, but might actually wait another year for the mactel ones.

Can't wait for the announcements! :D

Well, yes, it's bigger. But the "one more thing" is that it makes popcorn to go with the movie. Gotta have room to store the kernels.

Yeah really. You could even say its round a bit like the new iTun..........!!!!!!!!!!!
 
I'd rather flip it to watch video and make the display longer than widen the ipod. Though I guess that is easier to hold on to.
 
I don't think there's really enough info in that photo to tell us much of anythign about the new ipod. I mean, the headphone jack is a little off center, and the screen is larger looking, but it's obviously more of an artistic rendering than a true to life image.
 
this ad isnt apple's style, and I wouldnt imagine them changing too much today. A bigger screen would be nice, but the offcenter headphonejack makes it look just like ever other mp3 player on the market...

Im sure it's just the new iPod. Maybe they finally decided to give it a facelift kind of.


Im sure the video iPod will be far more impressive :)

Although if its a 80GB iPod I'll be buying one next week :p
And I cant see Apple using this event "just" for a bigger hard drive, so lets go with the video functionality, shall we? :cool:
 
Yawn!!!

It is so sad if this nothing more than a Fifth Generation iPod. If it only plays video on the screen that also offers nothing in my opinion.

I fully understand that Apple makes money off the iPod more than the Macs right now, but as some one who is much more interested in computers than music (or possibly video) players I am not terribly excited about today's event.

Speaking of today's event. Since it is not a big Apple event (like MWSF or Paris), I assume there will not be live coverage on MacRumors. So how long after 1pm (EST) do you think we will have to wait to find out what the "One More Thing..." is?
 
Please keep in mind folks iLounge is going to be at this event and it is only 1Hr. 45 min. away so I'm guessing iLounge is in San Jose and saw the ad then took a pic.

Hey does anyone here know of any live feed say via iChat or something like that?

All i know is a while back some random mac site told you to join "insertnamehere" chat on iChat and you could get live updates. Anyone? Im not crazy! I swear!

Strange. The unit may be a tad wider than the current form factor. Not sure I like the way it looks. It makes more sence to put the screen vertically. I don't think the design warrants a 'video' deription

Anyway, just a few hours to go...
 
Got it....Meh....still too small for real video viewing (IMHO 3" minimum.) yet large enough to be cumbersome. We'll see. May just feel smaller on the ad. If this really is the video iPod....Don't know. The halfway approach may not work. If you are going to make a video iPod then make a video iPod. Apple's already dicked up the form factor enough to make it incompatible with many iPod accessories. They may as well go the remaining 9 yards and give it a landscape display.

So I wouldn't count on it being overall smaller than current iPods. Hard to say from those stylized ads, of course. (And we have the nano to choose from anyway.)

I am glad to see the ad style evolving (new backgrounds). Keep it a little fresher, but maintain the brand awareness connection.
