Apple has begun airing a new iPod touch television commercial, entitled More Fun. The ad, which features the iPod touch as a gaming device, features brief clips of over a dozen games available in the App Store, with Franz Ferdinand's No You Girls [iTunes Store] serving as music accompaniment.

The new commercial, which is also available on Apple's iPod touch ad gallery, continues Apple's focus on the iPod touch as a gaming platform, a vision previously shared by both Steve Jobs and VP of Hardware Product Marketing Greg Joswiak.

I just saw this commercial on TV a couple hours ago. It was alright, nothing different from the other ones. I wish they would do the silhouette commercials again.

Eh. Another ad. I guess it's good to keep things fresh.

I like these ads. While it could just be them saying "additional fun", is anyone else wondering whether the title is a poke at all the people who seemed outraged by the use of the word funnest in previous ads/keynotes?

Not as good as the other one. The music wasn't timed with the movement and that made it seem less thought out and amateur-ish.

I do prefer the motion the "the Funnest iPod ever" text makes at the end though over the last one.

I'm picturing a silhouette person standing and tilting his iPod left and right with music and a flashy background. Not a very exciting commercial >.>

I think they should show games that use the touch screen more. Almost every game the commercials show uses the accelerometer the whole time, it makes them look kind of repetitive. They should have a commercial with games like Fieldrunners, iShoot, Edge, FunkyPunch, Topple, Hero of Sparta, etc., so it doesn't look like all the App Store games are just controlled by tilting.

New iPods

Any guesses when Apple will release a 64 gig touch? I hope before September.

Its a great ad that shows off the amazing graphics that makes the iPod Touch seem more like a PSP.

What I think all of the Apple ads need is something a little more catchy. Maybe the sound effects from the games added into the commercials would be good. I saw this ad for the first time last night while I was watching TV with my family and I was the only one even looking at the screen while the commercial was running.

Apple needs to find some new kind of catchy sound effect for all of their commercials that gets people to watch them. Or maybe a song or something that everyone will get stuck in their head and will run around the world singing all day long like many other commercials. I bet many people don't even pay attention while they are playing. I think this is where Apple needs to improve when it comes to advertisement.

Did anybody else notice the new hand model? It looks like a young boy.

I must be the only one who doesn't play games on their ipod touch, or maybe I just don't have the free time to do so. But even if I did have the time, it does not compare to playing a conventional game on a big screen TV.

I use the touch because it is the best ipod for navigating through music.

Not a bad ad, terrible edit of the song though. It's understandable they started from the second line of the track, the first being 'kiss me, flick your cigarette then kiss me...', but the crashing together of the first and last choruses and then throwing in the 'I need to love...' line which makes no sense detached from it's context, 'I think I love you...I mean, I need to love.'

Sorry, bit of a Franz Ferdinand fan :p
