wow excellent ad.

the games have really improved in quality, too, since the old ad.
love the song!

Why don't the videos ever play in Firefox on OS X. It only works on Safari. It reminds me of Windows and IE.
works like a charme here , and i'm using firefox... make sure you've installed flash player and all should be fine.. you probably can't play youtube vids either?

Oh man. On the advert itself, they're still using "funnest!":p

But that looks amazing. It makes the iPod look a bit like a handheld wii, in terms of functionality. Great stuff.

I like these ads. While it could just be them saying "additional fun", is anyone else wondering whether the title is a poke at all the people who seemed outraged by the use of the word funnest in previous ads/keynotes?

Sounds likely. Also interesting - after all of the complaining that Apple's ads don't demonstrate anything, now that they do, many are asking to bring back the silhouette ads. This new model seems to be more effective in actually selling a product based on its merits. This is also a great way to stir curiosity about new apps.

Same problem here, tried firefox on win machine too, not working. Tried chrome, perfect, however, it only plays once, whenever i wanna play another video in my browser that requires quicktime, there is no audio, apple's products on windows suck.

Wipeout?

Thats not wipeout on the graphic is it? I just checked on itunes and that can't be it. Anyone know the futuristic racing game displayed?

Hi All -

For those of you interested in knowing/buying the games in the commercial here is all you need to do:

Go to the Apple website and watch the commercial again. At the end of the commercial you get the option to Play it again, get the music from the commercial from iTunes or get the Apps in iTunes. If you click on the last option you are taken to the iTunes store and all the games are listed and you can buy anyone or all that appealed to you.

Not a bad ad, terrible edit of the song though. It's understandable they started from the second line of the track, the first being 'kiss me, flick your cigarette then kiss me...', but the crashing together of the first and last choruses and then throwing in the 'I need to love...' line which makes no sense detached from it's context, 'I think I love you...I mean, I need to love.'

Sorry, bit of a Franz Ferdinand fan :p

the second i hit the play button i was excited to listen to Franz Ferdinand, but then i noticed the terrible edit of the song :(

PS. im a FF fan too haha

apple should list either on the website or on the bottom of the ad the apps used in the commercial... i'm sure a lot of people are saying umm that looks like a cool app let me check it out but have no clue where to start...

They do. Just click "Buy the games on iTunes".

totally agree with you.
i just bought the boat game and it sucks.

Yeah I'm in the same boat.;)

Ads are fine I guess, but Apple's attempt to sound so "ditch the tie, take off your suit, spill some BBQ sauce on your shirt" casual is starting to annoy me...

i want sonic the hedgehog!

i wasnt sure if it still worked on the new 2.2 3G but it does and you can have this and it takes about 5 minutes to set up.

1. jailbreak
2. cydia get genesis4iphone
3. find the game online you will have to google but it is very easy
4. ssh into the iphone and drag the game into /var/mobile/MEDIA/ROMs/GENESIS

i just snapped a pic for ya.

this one is portrait mode but you can choose landscape if you want but i prefer portrait.

I must be the only one who doesn't play games on their ipod touch, or maybe I just don't have the free time to do so. But even if I did have the time, it does not compare to playing a conventional game on a big screen TV.

I use the touch because it is the best ipod for navigating through music.

*cough* it SHOULD be the easiest. Sure, it has built-in genius playlist making, sure it provides fairly easy song managing, but it's still sub-par to what it should be.
1. The other ipods have had searching capability for awhile now. This is a natural for the ipod touch with its full qwerty keyboard, yet it's the one withOUT searching. wtf?
2. I don't just want the standard making on the go playlists. I should be able to drag and drop between playlists/edit current ones. I should be able to press a button to finalize a new playlist instead of waiting for it to decide to, however it does that. Also, I should be able to name the new playlists. Again, wtf?

As a gaming device however, my ipod touch is great.

You're not the only one that doesn't play games that often. The only game I've played more than a few times is Trace. I use mine as an internet device first, music/video/photos player second and then gaming a distant third.
