My wife has a 1st gen iPod Touch and I did this to hers and it looks awesome. Be sure to protect any of the plastic areas and especially the camera with electrical tape. Also be sure when using the Scotchbrite Pad only go up and down with it over and over until you get the look you desire.
I was curious about trying this, but using a circular motion instead of straight up and down strokes ... I may have to do some research on this for the edges of my 2G iPhone.

I really though 4G was going to be the Generation that Jobs finally dumps the Back Chrome since they did it with the iPhone 4...

I've been a fan of Apple since they came out with the Mac Mini and I've learned to live with it that I don't even bother with Cases for my iPod/iPhone.

They all do that, even my new 5 day old Touch has scratches on the back, and it went from plastic to case,I didn't even touch it. I'm more pissed at my screen though, it has a nice big scratch or start of a crack in it,I'm tempted to return it for a new one.:(

Truth be told, Apple products are so damn sensitive.
What I did with my new iTouch: The minute I took it off the box I removed the front factory sticker and sticked it to the back. The put a 3GS screen protector on it, which, ofc does not fit and then put it to a leather sleever case. Not the best solutions, but tomorrow my Zagg will be here and my case, too. And I have no scratches, I sacrificed a few hours from using it but my iPod will be shiny for ever (at least I hope so)

Hey everyone,
I recently bought the new iPod touch duty free at an airport. I didn't use it until I got a case for it.
I bought a sillicon case that same with a screen protector. I was planning to get an InvisibleSheild, but thought the case would be okay until I can get one.
After I put on the screen protector, I turned my iPod over to clean the fi gerprints off the back before putting the case on it.
When I turned it over, I noticed a large area of light scratches near the top underneath the camera. I was, and still am, really pissed.

I don't understand HOW it can be scratched already. It was sitting on the piece of plastic it sits in when in the box.

Soo, my questions are; is the anyway to remove the scratches?
Can I get a replacement for scratches or not?

I am seriously REALLY pissed off.

Thanks, MagicalAquaX.

You might try this if you this concerned about it.;)
