Did I miss something?

Did I miss something or are we still speculating about the so called "event" which some podcast mistakenly thought was an official invite to an Apple Press event in CA?

So far, no-one has been officially been invoted have they? It's just hearsay.

Anyone got a link to anything "official" about this?

Unless Apple does a silent update on 12th, then I think we're all gonna get mightily disappointed.

I could be wrong however

Guys,
Remember it's an Apple Media Event. It just means that Steve is going to intro the iPod Hi-Fi in all Black and tell us it sounds even better than before.

Members of the media received email invitations this morning for a special event on Sept. 12 at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco

I say iTunes Movie Store and new iPod nanos. Possibly a rev of the iMacs, since they were the first ones to go Intel.

I really don't see a new iPod with video, but I could be wrong... i was last year when the 5G came out.

Steve is holding a special media event, I think we'll see some exciting music based stuff.

for some reason i just doubt that. Maybe it's just because i've been waiting for them to update it the past few weeks and nothing's happened

I really don't see any MB or MBP updates. Again, I could be off, but I don't see those until later this year.

I'm sure the C2D chips coming out on all sorts of Windows laptops may be putting some pressure on Apple to update their laptop line, but I think it's still too soon.

It might be too soon for you, but Apple will lose sales if they stick with yonah.

It's not too soon at all, at least for the MB pro. I doubt we'll see an announcement at THIS event, but I expect we'll see at least a MBP update in the next couple weeks. I'd guess no event, just a press release. Minis and iMacs should also get updated in the next few weeks, probably also a press release for each.

And hopefully updated MBP's with C2D.

None of those early "predictions" were from reliable sources, they were just people making a wish. PC laptops with merom are just starting to ship now, so the earliest they would come out would be next week. I think it will be a little after that. Also, the ipod promo ends the 16th, so it may be right after that.

I like when Apple doesn't announce something, i like surprises.

One thing will Apple ever make a larger LCD display, or they will stay with the 30" for a while.

Seeing the iMac 24", instead of 23". Seems like Apple upto something.

Hopefully that something invovles isight/front row displays that are more reasonable in price.
