Surprised at the hostility towards the world’s ONLY lossless streaming service. Tidal is literally like having the real CDs, with no difference in quality, to listen to. So that claim where streaming services say thousands of CDs available is actually true

Only audiophiles care about lossless audio. Double blind tests show that you can't tell the difference between lossless and iTunes.

I haven't heard a high end system that costs multiple thousands of dollars so maybe just maybe that would make a difference but then again, how many people can afford those systems?

Lossless just won't be a factor for 99.99% of the population.

I was supposed to cancel 24 hours before the auto-renewal (which is not stated anywhere in their terms [...] ).

Are you absolutely sure about that? Many subscription-based services I use have a similar policy, including Apple:

Your membership or subscription might renew if you don't cancel your membership or subscription more than 24 hours before your renewal date.

Number 4 (四; accounting 肆; pinyin sì) is considered an unlucky number in Chinese because it is nearly homophonous to the word "death" or "decease" (死 pinyin sǐ).

Anyone who has high-end headphones can easily tell the difference. And of course, anyone with a high-end stereo can too. If you don't have either of these, you won't notice the lossless difference...but that doesn't mean there isn't one or that there shouldn't be a lossless streaming service just because you have no need for it.

I have a pair of Bower and Wilkins P9 headphones. These are Bower and Wilkins top of the line headphones and retail for $899. Yes there are more expensive headphones and they aren't the pinnacle of modern headphone design but they rub elbows with the best. Their price point means they are considered unaffordable for the masses which means niche.

Even with these headphones the difference between Apple Lossless and iTunes is undetecable. In a double blind test you can't tell and I have excellent hearing because I take care of my ears and I've taken hearing exams to test my hearing.

I know audiophiles love to convince themselves they can and they swear on their life they hear a difference but it's all confirmation bias.

I know because I experienced it. I could swear I heard a difference and then I did a blind test and like everyone else I failed.

Audiophiles just need to be more honest with themselves.
