Edit: This has to be fake...look at the about this Mac window....what Intel Mac with a Core Duo has DDR RAM and not DDR2 ?

Ding Ding Ding!!!

And we have a winner.

As said...too late in this post.

Its fake. He used a plain background to make the photoshop easier for himself. Plus the other stuff noticed.

It definitely went through Photoshop at least once before getting here...

It looks interesting and somewhat convincing. I don't like that they got rid of the brushed metal, call me weird but I like that. Also the sides are more edged and square rather than more rounded, which I prefer.

It could be the equivalent of the current path button available when customizing the Finder. And you do know that you can currently type in a path using shift-command-G, right?

You're my new hero for that.

wow! very nice!
probably not all photoshopped, but that doesn't mean it's real. think about it:
aqua extreme theme
IE7 theme for firefox
new icons for firefox and iCal
some odd but very cool finder mods (or is this another app altogether?)
new icons in finder
desktop switching

except fot the finder design, i could recrate this whole thing. yawn.

Hehe, also that transition feature can be made with a mouse click in iMaginator, try the ripple effect in transitions and you'll have the exact same transition ;)

I would give him/her credit though, because this does look like what I'm looking for in a next gen OS (Well a small fraction)

I personally don't want Windows implimentation. Sure, it would be nice to run all those windows apps, but 'apps' also unfortunately includes viruses.

But, if Apple can make OS X handle EXEs in the same way OS X handles APPs, then I will be happy with it...

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but I think this is fake.

If you look at the About This Mac in that, it says:

Processor 2.16 GHz Intel Core Duo

Memory 1 GB DDR SDRAM

Startup Disk Macintosh HD

Windows XP with Service Pack 2

There is no Intel Mac that has a 2.16 GHz Intel Core Duo that uses DDR RAM, they use DDR2 RAM. The MacBook Pro and iMac are the only that are available with 2.16 GHz processors and use DDR2 RAM.

edit: nevermind this was mentioned. dangit! i was proud.

Agreed. There's no way of justifying it - no WAY would the apple developers have sub-standard equipment!!! If anything they'd have unreleased equipment - better equipment!

I would be more convinced if it said something that we think is impossible like 4GB RAM but the DDR2 is definitely a sticking point - sorry!

doesn't the 2nd one especially look photoshopped though?

Two words: core image!!

Dunno why I just said that but that's where that effect comes from, I believe!!

Is it just me or do the icons sit too high on the Dock? Look at your dock, and then at the picture, there's less space between the top of the icons and the edge of the Dock on these pictures.

Some nice ideas in there, though.

AppleMatt
edit: Also I very much doubt Apple would have a category 'Windows', I'd more expect something like 'Other OSs' etc.

The iCal/address book icon has the date as "Jan 14" instead of iCal's "Jun 17" could it be a release date??

Whether this is fake or real, that could definitely be a viable release date - just after MWSF. We'll find out more in a couple months...

Jan 14 is a Wednesday in 2009 or was in 2004

iCal only shows the correct date when it is running and you can tell it's not by the lack of back triangle under the icon. :)

So that is not a sign of falseiness (opposite of truthiness). ;)
