I do hope most of those features get implemented though. I am really drooling over the idea of native .exe support.
Do you also like the viruses that would come with that?:D That would be a nightmare to write without having the user just copy windows XP and use its files and libraries.

Does anyone else find "Version 10.5" suspicious?
Yeah should it not have something like Version 10.5 beta 3 or something like that?

EDIT: This user also only has 8 posts........

Whether this is fake or real, that could definitely be a viable release date - just after MWSF. We'll find out more in a couple months...

This is all a big yawn. Real. Fake. who cares?

1) Apple has said that Boot Camp will be developed so that there will be dual-boot macs, and presumably ones with desktop switching as well.

2) MS has said no more IE for Mac, so why the new version?

3) Apple will introduce Leopard sometime between this Fall and this coming Winter.

Wow--a couple of screenshots that confirm what we already know or create confusion by suggesting a new IE (which is a yawn).

Evidently you do, or you wouldn't have taken the time to look at the thread, much less post a response complete with numbered bullets. :p ;)

These are all just rumors. It's fun. If you don't have fun speculating, talking about fake stuff and getting into discussions like this, MacRumors probably isn't the best place for you to be spending your time. :D ;)

Are you guys clueless??! Look what happened to Video iPod someone made? Those are all photoshopped guys! Com'on! I can't believe they got you for real! haha :D

I don't think anyone is naive enough to say these are 100% real. For me at least, you take these things with a grain of salt, and whether it's real or fake, you have a good time discussing it regardless. The discussions that spawn from even obviously fake sumbissions can be very fascinating and entertaining. :)

Once again, why this place is "MacRumors" and not "MacAbsoluteFactsAndAnythingSuspectOrPossiblyFakeWillBeRemovedImmediatelyWithNoDiscussionPermitted".

2) The OP makes it clear that it's the Windows version of IE7 running in OS X. Not IE for Mac...

3) Introduce or release? I'm sure we'll hear something about it at WWDC, but since we're almost at 10.4.7, there can't be too many releases left...

Dear gods,

Can we please not start this debate again?

Thanks.

For the record, 10.4.10 ≠ 10.5.0

What does 10.5 release have to do with what point release 10.4 is on?

Leopard will be released when it's ready. We've already heard a bit about it, will hear a lot more about it at WWDC, and will probably see an announcement of a release date at MWSF, with shipping happening sometime relatively soon thereafter.

While the consensus seems to be that these are fake and there have been a lot of fakes posted (particularly of the video iPod), that doesn't mean you automatically dismiss everything that comes along as a fake. Real leaked photos of upcoming products have appeared here in the past, and each such incidence should be judged on its own merits.

Please tell me that's a Windows app running natively.

Please don't tell me that's a windows app running natively in OS x! The day that happens is the day Mac's become as prone to viruses as windows! I hope Mac's never run windows programs, I would be happy settling with a bootcamp style switch to windows!

Have any of the OS X reached 10.x.10?? I don't recall. But I doubt they will reach 10.4.10...because they have not done a .10 release before. Just my opinion though.

No, none have made it to .10.

Panther should not have made it to .9 because they had not done a .9 release on Mac OS X before.

Jaguar should not have made it to .8 because they had not done a .8 release on Mac OS X before.

Puma should not have made it to .5 because they had not done a .5 release on Mac OS X before.

Cheetah should not have made it to .4 because they had not done a .4 release on Mac OS X before.

That's how I see it too, but apparently I was starting an argument

The fact that most cars have 4 wheels doesn't increase the likelihood that future cars will have 5.
Obviously there's some degree of continuity as Apple's last releases have ended on .8 and .9... It's not suddenly going to be 10.4.15 out of nowhere...

That analogy doesn't make any sense.

If anything, Apple's trend is that each release has more point releases than the one before, which would suggest that they will get to at least .10 this time around. But I actually have no opinion as to whether they will get there or not. My only point is that we have no idea how many point releases there will be. They will continue doing point releases until 10.5 is ready. That could happen after 10.4.7 or after 10.4.35 (though I think only Microsoft could pull off something like that).

Native PC Apps in Mac OS X

THere have been rumors floating around for a while now that Mac OS X will include the ability to run Windows apps in Mac OS X. With MS halting development of all Mac products (except Office), it makes me think that even THEY know that something special is around the corner. Why develop Media Player and IE if in 6 months you can just use the PC version?

Just a thought.

Development of IE was stopped after Apple released Safari and made it the default browser. Not to mention that Safari kicked IE's ass at just about everything and there was no reason for MS to compete.

WMP for Mac development was stopped after the first and only release. It was not made by the MacBU and I suspect any updates were squashed by higher ups to make the Macs multimedia experience seem inferior to Windows.
